Chapter 13
Y/N POV
"Alpha, there are two visitors at the border. They said that they're from the Kim Pack. They said that their mates are here," Hyunjin says, sticking his head into my office in the Alpha Packhouse.
"Mates as in plural?" I ask, looking up at him.
"Yeah, I know right?"
"That's never happened before. Wolves are supposed to only have one mate in their lifetime, unless it's a second chance mate-"
"Which only happens after the first mate has died,"
"Are they werewolves? Are you sure that they're from the Kim Pack,"
"Yes, I could sense their wolves, a beta and a gamma. Only Namjoon can confirm their status in his pack,"
"Alright," I wave my hand and dismiss him, "I'll head over in a moment."
I stand up from my chair and head out into the hallway. Who could be visiting us? We've been kind of popular lately.
"Hey, babe," Namjoon tackles me from behind, wraps his arms around my waist, and kisses my cheek lovingly.
Namjoon has become more touchy as days go on. He's been here for about a week and seemed to have no intention of leaving, which was weird because he has a pack to run. Whenever I asked him about it, he would say that his beta was handling things in his absence and then kiss me until I forgot bout it. Speaking of kissing, the more time I've spent with Namjoon, the more I had become okay with PDA.
Sometimes at night, he would come to my bedroom to sleep in my bed. His eyes would be red and puffy like he had been crying. At first, I thought it was homesickness or missed someone in his family or something like that.
He wouldn't talk about it, just asking if he could hold me. I would let him sleep in my arms as his shoulders shook. He'd mumble things to himself, to me, and sometimes to the Moon Goddess. He'd apologize and beg for forgiveness, for what I still don't know to this day.
"Hey, you," I coo. I turn and wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him on the lips. He hums into the kiss and goes in for another quick one.
"What you up to today?"
"Right now, I'm going to go greet some visitors at the border. Then after that, handle some business with Hyunjin around the pack. Oh, and before I forget, we have to go to dinner at my packhouse. The girls miss us,"
He furrows his brows, "Also known as Jisoo wants to check on us,"
"Bingo!" I chuckle, and he joins in on the laughter, "You know how she feels about our situation, and besides, she worries. The Alpha packhouse is really big, and I miss them, too."
Namjoon and I had moved into the Alpha packhouse. He says that we should break it in and make it feel like home before we start having pups, and he has an idea what to do with the extra rooms.
"Anyway, I have something important to tell you later on when you're not busy. It's about my nightmares and stuff. I haven't been entirely truthful about myself or my past."
He cups my cheek and stares into my eyes for a long moment, "I love you, Y/n." He says finally. It felt like my heart sped up, and my skin felt hot.
"When I found out that you were my mate, I knew that I had to have you at any cost, and now, I'm so in love with you. You're a good person, and you're funny--"
"Alpha? Y/N?!" We pull apart to see that Hyunjin is calling my name.
"Oh, there you are! We need to go. Oh, hey Namjoon,"
"Shit, I forgot,"
"Oh, Was I interrupting something?" Hyunjin asks.
"Yes!" Namjoon and I say in unison.
"Well, Damn, my bad," He retreats down the steps, "I'll be downstairs,"
We wait until his footsteps are far enough away before we start talking again.
"He has impeccable timing, doesn't he?" Namjoon starts.
"I know, right? We'll finish this conversation later, okay?"
"Of course, Get back safe. I can't wait to kiss you later,"
"Whatever, bye lover boy!" I start to walk down the stairs.
"Boy in Love!!!" He sings off-key, and I laugh as I walk away.\
Hyunjin is outside on the porch when I get there. We head towards the border.
"I know you heard us up there and that you interrupted on purpose,"
"Girl, we both know I just saved you. You didn't know what you were gonna say to that boy, and we both know I'm right," I stay silent.
We get to the border, and I tell the guards to open the gates. I stand a little bit behind Hyunjin when I smell my mate, but it's not him?!
"Hey, do you see Namjoon anywhere?" I whisper to Hyunjin. "and I need you to find Namjoon, quickly,"
"Nope. I can't smell him either."
"That's weird. I smell something, it's like Namjoon's scent. It's just as strong, but it's different somehow,"
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Hyunjin walks away in search of Namjoon.
"Okay, whatever,"
I decide to let it go and focus on the current situation. Two men walk into our territory. Both were tall and handsome, but one of them had two different colored eyes, one brown and one was purple, and he was beautiful. His expression was cold and unbothered. The other seemed to be a ball of energy and had this adorable boxy smile on his face. He was looking all around and sniffing the air.
I couldn't help but notice that the closer they got, the stronger the scent of strawberries, vanilla, amber, and oranges got. Why was I so aware of their scents? Their scents made my wolf stir inside me.
"OMG, Y/n they're-Oh shit!" My wolf says, "I knew something was up!"
"What?" I mindlink. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"Ma-!" She growls.
A gasp pulls me from my thoughts. "Jinnie, Look! It's her! Our mate!"
I look behind me, but there's no one there. Right then, my wolf takes over, and she growls in her alpha voice, "Mates!" but Namjoon was nowhere to be seen, I would have noticed. I look down to see that my claws were out. Could it be that-? No. No. No.
I look up back up to see the curly-headed man pointing.
He was pointed at me.
