"Are you hungry?" Bakugou randomly asked you after a few minutes of silence and you two walking down the sidewalk through the town.
"Are you trying to offer me food?"
"Answer the question."
"Hm then yeah, I'm hungry." You answered his question and he grew quiet again as his feet made their way over to a small ramen shop down the street.
His hands were shoved in his pockets, the intense look on his face had you worried if he was constipated or trying to force himself to deal with you. You would go with both options.
You giggled under your breath, thinking about it too much and that made him give you the side eye thinking you were crazy for giggling to yourself.
He walked ahead of you, going inside of the ramen shop and had bought you some food before finding a table near the corner of the place to sit down across from you.
He still stayed silent, his red eyes glancing around the room before he made eye contact with you. He wouldn't say it out loud but he did all of this because all he could feel was guilt when it came to what you went through.
Bakugou puts on the tough guy act, he cusses everyone out and acts as if everyone gets on his last nerves but deep down he had too big of a heart and was very caring towards people, he just showed it in his own way- with his temper.
"Why are you acting so weird?" You finally spoke up, resting your elbow on the table and leaning forward to rest your chin on the palm of your hand.
"Tch, I'm not acting weird." He furrowed his eyebrows at you and you made a face at him.
"That's a lie. I don't think Katsuki Bakugou would ever save my life then buy me lunch all in the same week." You laugh at the reaction he gave off, his face turning a light shade of red.
"Don't flatter yourself, idiot. I'm being..... a... friend." He barely managed to say the word, looking unsure of himself when he did.
"A friend?"
"Yeah."
"Yeah??"
"I said yeah!" He grew irritated and another laugh erupted, seeing he still can easily be pushed.
It grew quiet between the both of you, the only sounds was the both of you silently eating and the soft music that played in the small shop. You never took Bakugou to be a good friend in a way he was being right now but deep down, you were appreciative.
"I never said it but thank you." You randomly said, seeing him almost choke on his ramen and awkwardly look up at you.
"For what?" He was confused as to why you were thanking him and he was definitely uncomfortable hearing one slip out of your mouth, the girl that constantly pushed his buttons and irritated him to no end.
"For the other day. I know it wasn't a easy decision to help someone you hate and argue with all the time." You teasingly said, taking a small sip of the cup of water in front of you.
"I don't hate you." He admitted, he doesn't hate anyone as much as he says he does.
"Pretty sure if I was in the same situation, you wouldn't hesitate to help me. Plus, it would be one hell of a mess if you ended up dying and I don't want to deal with that." He said with annoyance in his tone and looked down at his bowl.
"Whatever, just admit you're a big teddy bear." His head snapped up to look at you, his eyes turning a darker shade of red.
"I'm not a teddy bear."
"I think you are."
"Well, I think you're an idiot." He scoffed, leaning back against his seat and for the first time you heard a genuine laugh come from him.
Obviously Bakugou has laughed but it's always that evil laugh, sinister grin type when he's about to fuck someone up in a way but this time it was a small little chuckle that didn't sound evil but sounded nice and genuine, at least to you.
"If I'm an idiot, what does that make you?" You raised your eyebrow, a small smirk coming across your face and he sat there deep in thought about it.
"Makes me pretty fucking awesome."
"Oh pleaseeee, you wish." You dragged on, the smirk appearing on your lips again, hearing him grunt.

It was now the next day, after class was finished you had to practice again with Aizawa and you were getting annoyed during the entire training exercise.
You had tried everything within you to control the lava that had ran through deep under ground and this time it had taken you longer make the lava come up again.
You were doing somewhat better but Aizawa ordered you to make the lava come up from the ground and shoot it at one of the targets he had out.
This was a lot harder than you thought it was because you were trying, the vein in your neck popping out and the sweat gathering up on your forehead made the small hairs stick to it and even still, not enough lava was coming up for you to shoot it at the target.
"You're trying too hard, it looks like you're constipated. You just need to feel your quirk and the lava under the ground, make it your own and control it the way you want it to, don't force it." Aizawa stared at you from afar, the intense look on his face buried into you as you tried again.
This time you had closed your eyes to feel your quirk through your body and make the lava your own like he mentioned. It had taken another ten minutes but you managed to shoot the lava from the ground, more than you would like and completely destroy the target in front of you, making Aizawa surprised but pleased with your improvement.
"That was good, better than yesterday."
You were proud of yourself this time, the smile never leaving your face as you were dismissed and sent home. You almost skipped out of the locker room when you got back in your uniform and seen the familiar angry blonde waiting for you again.
"Ew, why are you so cheery?" He stared at you in disgust and you ruffled up his blonde hair, walking down the side walk beside him.
"Because I actually made some improvement today with my quirk, Kacchan." You hadn't felt this good about your quirk— at all actually, this was the first time you've felt like your quirk wasn't a complete waste of time.
"Good, I guess it'll prevent you from blacking out again and almost killing everyone in your path." He scoffed, looking down at you and had a small smile appearing on his face.
Bakugou had walked you almost the whole way home, he stopped at the end of your street and looked down at you with his hands shoved in his pockets.
"I'm happy for you, lava girl." You grunted at the stupid nickname, meeting his gaze as you turned back at him.
"Thanks, Kacchan." You teased, purposely raising your fingers up into a gun and made your water quirk spit out at him, making him send you a death glare.
"Don't make me explode your ass." The same evil grin had came across his face and you instantly raised your hands up.
"I accept defeat, Mr explosion god." You said sarcastically, turning around to start walking towards your house.
"You're an idiot."
"Back at you." You yelled out, waving goodbye and he finally turned around and walked in the opposite direction, going back to his place.
He had shaken his head, trying to rid the thoughts of you as he walked down the sidewalk alone. He hated to admit that walking with you did lift his spirits a bit and did make him feel better about what had happened to you from the villain attack.
Hanging out with you definitely settled his nerves and somewhat of his fear and he hated himself for always waiting for you after class and walking home with you because the more you both did it, the more you were breaking his big wall down and it scared him.
