You look at your phone to see a text from stan.
"Hey kiddo we still up for bowling tomorrow? I know a cute place I can take ya."
"Of course, let's meet at the shack at 10:00 am, sounds good?"
"Alrighty sweetheart."
You blush a little at that last text from Stanley, you can't tell at all if he's like this with everyone or he's got a thing for you. Either way it'll be awkward since you think you like Ford, his brother. You place your phone down on the charger and fall to sleep.
The next morning, 8:55 Am.
You groan, putting a hand on your head fixing your hair a bit, you yawn and take the sleep out of your eye. You check yourself in the mirror to see your hair a mess. You grab your brush and quickly fix it, taking out all the knots and frizz with your spray you got at a store.
You put on new clothes for the day, casual yet to impress. To look good since you're going out with Stanley, in a non romantic way.
You brush your teeth using the water Ford gave you and spitting it out on the grass. You put on deodorant and head out to a breakfast place, you spot a women with one eyelid close and ask for some take out breakfast to eat outside. You grab your quick breakfast eating it outside and by now it's time to go to the bowling alley with Stanley.
You walk up to the shack seeing Stanley standing on the porch just like he said he would be, he smiled seeing you walk up. He walked up to you before you could even get onto his property.
"Y/N! Glad to see you came!"
He said joyfully patting you on the shoulder making you let out a small giggle. He kept smiling at you. You just couldn't put down the fact you thought he had feelings for you, and that maybe you thought his brother was a little cute.
"Of course I did, I wouldn't miss seeing an old friend."
You tried to put him down with the friend zone, you didn't want to lose him at all though, he was like a ray of sunshine. Hard to not love the guy.
Stan gave you a cocky smile, he seemed to pick up on the friend part at least.
"We're going in my car if that's okay?"
You nod your head in a yes and Stan walked you over to his car, it was an older car that you've seen in old movies, like Grease or any 50s looking car, it was red and very rusty, she could use a good fix up but still looked like one bad ass car.
You let out a small "woah." Under your breath looking at his car.
"She is pretty amazing, huh?"
Stanley huffed, patting his car on the front. You were never that big of a car person but his car was to stunning to not acknowledge it.
Stan puffed up his chest watching your face, seeing how it made him proud.
He opens the door for you, you step in and wait for him. Once he's in he starts the car and turns on the radio, the radio is quiet enough to be just background noise. You two sit in silence for a minute until Stan starts talking to you.
"This bowling ally is one I haven't been to in awhile, I actually haven't gone bowling in a year now. I did with the kids but they're not here right now."
You listen to him speak but spark when he says kids. You pause him for a minute to let out your own thoughts.
"Kids? You have kids Stanley?"
You never really got to family when you used to talk but you never thought he was a family kinda guy. He seemed to like being alone. Stanley let out a chuckle of you sounding so shocked.
"Well they're not mine, kiddo, I don't have any of my own since I never got the chance to 'settle down' they're my little brothers grandkids."
When he said brother you instantly thought of Ford, the one you met yesterday.
"Wait Ford has kids?"
You spoke, once again without thinking. Stan let out an even bigger chuckle. You started to get confused now.
"That little sucker? No way that man has any kids! I have a 3rd brother, Sherman. I haven't seen him in a long, long while. Don't know what he's up to but his son gave me these beautiful kids so I'm grateful for the man. Never got time to know him either, since when I.. 'left' home he was just a baby."
Stan told you, you got more comfortable the more he talked, adjusting your body in the seat. Stan watched the road as he talked so he didn't see you looking at the photo he had of his brother and the kids in his mirror. Mostly you were looking at Ford.
"We're here, kiddo."
Stan said getting out of the car, you unbuckled your seatbelt and got out walking with him to the entrance along side Stanley.
Stanley opens the door for you, you walk into the bowling ally and see the bright red, blue, and green colored LED lights covering the walls. A black carpet with neon spots scattered on it, a small bar and there it is, The bowling Lanes with the bowling pins at the end. Stan walks to a rack with bowling balls and grabs two, handing one to you.
"Show me what you got kid."
Stan says with a huge smile, you start getting nervous, truly you haven't gone bowling since you last spoke with Stan two years ago. You place your fingers into the ball And look to Stan one more time to see if he still had his eyes on you, he did. You lifted your arm and then let the ball down with a woosh, the ball kept rolling in the middle at a fast rate, it crashed into the middle pin and they all fell down resulting in a strike.
"Woah! Babes, I didn't know you were actually good at this!"
Stan shouted his jaw hanging down in amazement. You scratched the back of your neck, thinking in your head
'How did I even do that? I haven't played in two years-'
Stan started to look a little nervous. He grabbed his own ball, he stuck out his tongue to the side and threw it in the second lane next to yours. It stayed close to the edge but didn't fall in the lines to the side, it kept rolling until it hit a side of the pins, knocking all down but one.
"Damn, guess I'm more rusty then I thought. You did pretty damn well though huh, babe?"
Babe? Hmm, this man and his nicknames. You gave him a nervous smile. You and him kept bowling for an hour and a half, laughing and talking about things.
"I didn't know you'd be this fun Stan!"
You shouted happily which made the man smile at you, he patted your back.
"I may be rusty kid but I'm still fun to be around."
Stan shrugged his shoulders as he laughed along with you. He seemed to brighten up the more and more you played, even though he was already extremely bright, he just always made the room brighter and made you smile like never before. It's awesome to be friends with him.
"Stan, we've been playing for almost two hours, we better head back home soon."
Stan looked at you confused. Slightly tilting his head to your words.
"Home?"
He repeated your words back to you. You then realized what you had said, you called the shack home on accident.
"A-Ah! Sorry Stanley, I meant the shack! Damn it."
You cursed under your breath being so embarrassed of your words. Stan started to laugh which made you look up at him angrily, that laugh was hard not to smile too, so you stopped being so embarrassed for your accident.
"Kid! I've had the most fun I've ever had in months! You were amazing. Thanks for hanging out with me today."
