SLIGHTLY MATURE CHAPTER

This was not read over nor edited

Keefe stayed outside to watch the sunrise over the strong waves in the distance. It was beautiful, the sunrise consisting of yellow, orange, and pink sort of flags floating freely throughout the sky. The clouds reflected the colors as well, but were darker than the original colors, more of purples and magenta's. Keefe liked the colors.

"How long have you been out here for?" a voice suddenly asked from behind him. Keefe looked over his shoulder to see Sophie walking towards him. She was wearing a slightly transparent dress, the fabric seeming to be a sort of ice blue silk. The sleeves fell past her hands which seemed to be both rubbing her stomach but stopped higher than her feet so she wouldn't trip.

"A while, you mom had a chit chat with me," Keefe said with a smirk, getting to his feet to help his girlfriend sit down. The last failed attempt to propose to his girlfriend had been haunting him for the past nights so he needed some fresh air and fresh ideas.

"It's really pretty at this time of day, isn't it?" Sophie asked, sitting with her legs straight out in keefe's lap. He smiled and nodded, placing kisses at the top of her messy bedhead of blonde locks. Keefe watched her reach over his thigh and grab a few flowers along with a handful of long blades of grass.

"Do you think the baby will like art, Keefe?" Sophie asked him. He smiled and placed his hands under her dress, causing his girlfriend to gasp at his freezing hands.

"I hope so," he breathed into her ear as she leaned back against his chest. "We should do a ritual to make sure," he said to her. Sophie raised an eyebrow with her eyes closed.

"Ritual?" she hummed to him. Keefe watched from over her shoulder as her hands begun to weave a sort of bracelet from the blades of grass. He licked his lips as the sight of her smoothly moving fingers, placing his mouth against her neck to stop from making a sound.

"Mhmm," he said against her skin. A shiver ran down her spine at it and he smirked at her reaction. "I paint on your stomach," he told her. Sophie's eyebrow raised higher.

"And this is supposed to-?" she began with a slight giggle.

"It's supposed to inspire the baby to be creative when it comes out," Keefe said, raising his head with a dopey grin.

"Comes out of where Keefe?" she asked him. Keefe's face went red at her question. He really hated talking about this stuff. Sex was another thing, but childbirth? He had no idea how that worked.

"Out of... your... you know," he mumbled feeling even more embarrassed as she begun to laugh.

"You seem so cocky when we do it, saying vagina or even pussy, but you won't say it when we are talking about something more mature?" she asked him with a grin. He rolled his eyes at her, but looked back down to the bracelet which now laid in her hands. Flowers stuck out in weird directions but it looked natural.

"Can I wear it?" Keefe asked. Sophie nodded, slipping the grass blade bracelet onto his thin wrist with a smile. He grinned. "It fits perfectly."

. . .

As Keefe begun to get his paints together, setting up a seat for Sophie to sit, he wanted to make sure she wouldn't get bored only staring at the waves in the distance and her parents trying to feed the animals. He made sure the chair had a backrest for her back and that he was also comfortable in the grass. With a table as his side at his waist height, he began pouring different colors of paint.

"Keefe? You ready?" Sophie asked from the house. Keefe looked up to see Sophie standing on the front porch of the home, Grady standing behind her with a large glare aimed for Keefe. Sophie was wearing a sort of swimsuit top and as she approached, Keefe really started to realize how large her breasts had grown in the past few months. They looked like they were swelling in a painful way, but oh did they make his eyes widen.

"Close your mouth boy," Grady murmured at him. Sophie sat down on the chair and Keefe grinned up at her and all she could do was cross her arms and roll her eyes. As Grady gave Sophie one more chance to go back, he gave Keefe a glare before walking towards Edaline who was calling for him. The first thing Keefe did was make Sophie uncross her arms, taking both of her hands into his own and placing them at her sides.

"For artistic purposes," Keefe said with a playful grin. Sophie rolled her eyes once more before resting. Keefe dipped his larger paint brush into the white pain, hesitating to stroke it against her soft, large stomach. It had grown quite a bit for only be six months into the pregnancy. It appeared almost half of Sophie's head could fit inside of it. But he placed the brush full of paint on her skin and watched goose bumps spread over her body and her fingers curl into a fist.

"Kriff that's cold," she hissed at him, her toes curling as well. Keefe smirked and begun t move the brush over her stomach. She seemed to get used to the feeling after a bit, but her breathing was a bit off.

"Do you know what you're painting?" Sophie asked him. Keefe shrugged, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

"Kind of, just the outline," he told her. Sophie nodded, biting her lip at an unanswered question.

"Can you tell me-"

"No," he told her, getting to his feet and placing the brush in the cup of water. Sophie watched with wide eyes as he removed his sweaty shirt, pulling it over his head and throwing it to the side. His silhouette stood in front of her, almost making him look like an angel from the way the sun was hitting him.

He must have noticed how flustered he was because he chuckled slightly, getting back to his knees.

"Shut up," she hissed at him when his laughing grew louder.

And he did, he begun to concentrate as he used purples and blues and greens, pinks and violet. Sophie liked the line which came in between his eyebrows when he was making a stroke of important detail along with the way he bit his lip as if to steady himself.

"Can I look yet?" she asked him. He was now fanning his finished artwork, but she blindfolded so all she could do was feel the wind with every flat. She could practically feel him smirk at her words.

"Not yet, I want to see you squirm a bit longer."

"Keefe!" she complained as he suddenly blew his hot breath on her neck.

"Alright, alright," he said with a dark chuckle. She felt his hands linger around her ears were the blindfold was sitting before removing the cloth completely. Sophie's eyes quickly went down to the art work and she gasped.

He had painted in a perfect circle. A purple tree trunk was painted in the direct middle, looking like Calla's which stood on the hill in front of Sophie now. Instead of flowers, though, curved lines which she assumed were a sort of abstract branches wound around the circle to create a frame.  In the background of the tree were Calla's panakes blossoms, making a sort of tile. In front of the tree was the figure of a baby made of a light blue. It was only the silhouette but it went with the background beautifully.

"Keefe..." she whispered, her eyes flickering up to his eyes to see his expression drop.

"Do you like it?" he asked, fiddling with his fingers. He looked adorable with multiple paint brushed behind his ears. Sophie got to her feet, grabbing his hands and placing it against her cheek.

"Keefe, its beautiful," she told him, careful to not touch the still slightly wet paint. A lovesick grin came to his face as she stood on her feet, kissing his cheek.

That never got old.
