We had just finished supper; (which was a lovely chicken curry) and I was walking back to the common room with Draco and Crabbe when we saw a massive group of students huddled around something.
"Get out the way" Draco spat as Crabbe carelessly shoved people in all directions trying to direct our way through the crowds, once we reach the front of the huddle I gasped at the 'main attraction'
'The Chamber of Secrets has been open, enemies of the heir beware.' was carelessly written in blood on the wall accompanied by Mrs Norris who was hung beside the message on the spear, out cold.
"Enemies of the heir beware?" I read out to Draco who shrugs
Seeing a opportunity and taking it Draco announces "It will be you next mudbloods"
"What's goin' on here?" A raspy voice calls out at the back
I turn my gaze away from the mural on the wall and over to where the voice came from
"Get out the way, get out the way" Filch orders as he pushed his was through the crowd who had was yet to spot his cat.
"Potter" He snarls at the boy who was taking a closer look Mrs Norris "What are you..." and that was when he noticed
"You- You've killed my cat" He stutters, honestly if it was anyone else it would have been sad but because it was Filch and his utterly vile animal of a cat it was slightly amusing.
"It was not me" Potter defends
Filch hobbles his way to his beloved cat, similarly to how I was walking after quidditch training, and grabs Potter by the cuff of his shirt and screams "I WILL KILL YA"
"Argus" another deep voice boomed
"What is it with people deciding to say comments before showing themselves, it's not helping the current atmosphere" I snap under my breath to Daphne who had now joined us
She giggled and replied "I know right, I'll have a heart attack if I hear one more"
"You laughing at my cat!" Filch says immediately turning to Daph
"She definitely does not care for your filthy cat, so leave her alone" I snap at him
"YOU-" Filch shouts before he is cut off by Dumbledore
"Argus, I hope I don't have to ask again" Everyone turns to look at Dumbledore for answers but even he himself, and the rest of the teachers for that matter seem taken aback by the writing and cat
"Everyone will resort to their dormitory's immediately." Without another word we all turn to start heading back to the dormitory's
"Everyone except you four" Dumbledore says turning to look at me and the golden trio, Draco, Blaise and Daphne all stay behind me not intending to leave without me any time soon.
"You will see her in a minute Ms. Greengrass, Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Zabini" Dumbledore says before sending the 3 reluctant 12 years olds back off to the Slytherin dormitory's
"She is not dead Argus" Dumbledore finally says to Filch after he forcefully let go off me
"My father will hear about this" I mutter under my breath
"What a shame, you see I know exactly the counter curse which could have spared her" Lockhart says
I scoff at his remark which triggers a flush of red to build up in Lockharts face.
"But how she can be petrified, I cannot say" Dumbledore imagines
"Ask him, you saw what he wrote on the wall" Filch says
"It's not true sir I swear" Potter pleads " I would never touch Mrs Norris"
"Rubbish" Filch fights back
"If I might professor, perhaps Potter and his friend were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time" Snape explains, the trios faces look shocked that Snape was actually backed them up for once.
"However, since circumstances around those are suspicious I don't recall seeing Potter at dinner" Snape adds, he just couldn't help himself
"I'm afraid that's my fault professor Snape, you see Harry was helping me answer my fan mail" says Lockhart
"That's why Ron and I went looking for him, we just found him when he said-" Granger says before stopping and turning to Harry, as if she was asking for permission to share what was said. I raise my eyebrow intrigued.
"Yes miss Granger" Snape drools
"Before I said I wasn't hungry" Harry quickly say
Yeah right, that is such a lie. I bet my whole chocolate frog stash he is up to something.
"We were heading back to the common rooms when we found Mrs Norris" Potter adds
Snape just glared at Potter before turning back round to Dumbledore
"Innocent until proven guilty Severus" Dumbledore says
"Excuse me professor I don't like to butt in, however what exactly has this got to do with me?" I ask Dumbledore
"Oh yes I almost forgot about you Ms Malfoy" Dumbledore chuckles
"Charming" I thought to myself
"Well considering you are top of your set in potions Severus and I were merely wondering if you would tutor young Mr Weasley over here" He offered, which was no point since I knew I would be forced to oblige either way
"No to be rude but why not Granger. She's second in the class and also happens to be his best friend!" I explain not hugely enthrilled by the idea of tutoring Ron
"Ms Granger is already tutoring two other students already and she feels she would not have any spare time to herself to focus on her own studies" says Dumbledore
Putting on a sickly sweet act I turn to Ron and say "Library, Tuesday 5pm. Don't be late"
With that I say my goodbyes to the Professors and grumble over to the slytherin common room
"Harriett Malfoy"
I groan 'what now' and swiftly turn around to see Snape making his way over too me
"Professor, is everything okay?"
"Harriett, I just wanted to warn you. This year will put everyone into grave danger and I don't want you getting hurt." Snape says while staring into my eyes deadly serious
"Harrie you are different than my other students, you are my goddaughter, and I'm speaking to you now as your God Father, not as your potions professor. You and Draco are the closest thing to family I have and I don't want you two to be in danger whatsoever.
I didn't know how to reply so I do the first thing that come to my mind and embrace him. He stands dead for a second or so, obviously taken aback but hugs me back nevertheless.
"Thank you Severus" With that she left the shocked yet happy professor in the hallway
I plod through the entrance to the sytherin common room in a newly chirpy mood, that was before I was bombarded with questions from an anxious Daphne
"Where the hell have you been Harrie!"
"Ugh Harrie I was so worried"
"What took you so long?"
"Daph I love you so much but please calm yourself" I laugh before basically throwing myself on the leather couch next to Theo
"Nothing really happened, the Professors thought that I could be involved because of Filch and his silly remarks" I wanted to tell them about my suspicions on Potter and Severus's warnings, but I also didn't want to start unnecessary drama
"He is a right old toad, isn't he" Theo says which caused the whole group to start laughing
"That wall has really shaken me up. I think it's best I go up to bed now I know Harries safe" Astrid said
All of the group agreed with her and join her in going up to their individual dorms; except for one.
"Draco?"
"Now please tell me whats really going on" Draco whispers
"I don't know what your talking about Draco"
"I think after spending my whole life with my twin by my side every second of it I am able to tell when she is hiding something from me"
"Fine, there may be a few little details I skipped out" I say sitting back down on the sofas pulling a blanket up over me
"Well firstly Granger almost said something about Potter she obviously was not allowed to and how he apparently heard something but she stopped herself half way through, and when Severus edged them on all Potter said was how he was telling them how hungry he was, that has got to be a lie"
"Yeah that seems odd" Draco says thinking
"And what's even more worrying, when I was walking back to join you guys Severus called out my name and admitted we all are in 'grave danger' "
"This is serious Harrie, what do you think is happening"
"I don't know Drake, I don't know"
