It's a fine summer day in mid August, all the big and carefully decorated windows of the Manor are open to let fresh air in.
Seated beside one of the windows of the living room is Tom. Book in hand, but his gaze is elsewhere.
His eyes fixed outside , the bright green of the grass,the colourful flowers and the even more bright light blue of the sky kinda hurt his eyes, but his mind is too deep into thoughts to even bother looking away.
His thoughts are on his mother, she usually writes to them monthly to update him or ask for updates, but these two months he received not a single letter.
Quite odd and very unusual from her mother, he thinks.
His girlfriend, y/n, is currently not at home. She's gone to a muggle mall with Abby to do some shopping, at least that what she told Tom, but there's no doubt that she's saying the truth. Even though they aren't supposed to leave the house, y/n is too stubborn to listen to her parents, but Tom doesn't even try to stop her.
Tom eventually decided to write Merope. He closed the book,stood up and walked towards y/n's room.
My dear mother,
We haven't heard from you or dad for quite an odd amount of time. Please let us know how you are doing , it's not from you not writing me I hope that nothing bad occurred.
I await a reply.
Your favourite and only son,
Tom.
He then folded the parchment,slid it into the yellow envelope and secured it with blood red hot wax.

'Don't you have already too many vinyls?' Asked Abby looking at her bestfriend lifting up one eyebrow
'There's no such thing as too many vinyls my dear' replied y/n looking up at her bestfriend winking , her hands flipping through different albums
'If you say so, At least let me help you. What are you looking for specifically?' The curly haired girl asked y/n looking at her desperate face
'Artic Monkeys, but I can't seem to find the album' she replied with a sigh
'Alright it should be somewhere here' said Abby starting to help y/n look for it
'So, Rivers' suspension has ended. What are you planning to do?' Abby asked holding out one album that caught her interest
'I totally forgot about her' admitted
Y/n 'I'll just hope that she doesn't bother me'
'You can't guarantee it..she's trouble, and you know it well!'
'And so am I'
'Well, you're right. But if she gives you any problems you know that you can count on us.. Our Queen' she stated with a bow
'I acknowledge it' replied y/n lifting up her chin with authority before the two busted out laughing
'Ooh! Found it!' Y/n lifted up the album she was looking for
'Perfect, our next stop?' Asked Abby as they walked towards the cashier
'Up to you' replied y/n
'The thrift store!' She replied enthusiastic
'Alright, but after that we going home before my parents know about my escape'

'What do you see?' Asked Tom looking at Y/n from beside the old and dusty mirror
Y/n's eyes are on it's reflection, her expression is hard to read but it's not a calm one
'I see myself' she replied, but her voice came out trembling
'It isn't showing your future? It might be broken or something' speculated the boy
'It is showing—the future. I see myself, but this version of me is—is crying'
Tom says nothing, knowing that she isn't done talking
'I'm on the floor, on my knees.
My face—I can't see it well, but it doesn't seem much older than I am now. My hands are touching someone's face, the person is laying on the floor and-' she gasps her breath trembles
Y/n's eyes widen in terror, she snaps her neck away from the mirror as a tear falls from her shut closed eyes, it draws a line on her dry cheek.
Tom immediately runs towards her and hug her, noticing how she's trembling he tightened his grip
'It's alright, whatever you saw on the reflection we can change it' he said caressing the back of her head
He then put her face between his hands so that she can look straight at him
'We can change it, we will change it alright? Do you trust me?' He asked wiping her tears with his thumb
Y/n looked at his eyes and nodded before closing them again and laying her head in his chest.
That night Tom was too deep in thoughts to fall asleep.
Tom's pov
There's not much time left, if somethings bad is going to happen it will happen in a span of time of less than two years.
The dilemma is how will it happen and not really what.
Y/n hasn't told me who she saw lifeless on the reflection, but I'm sure it was me.
Why am i this sure? You may ask.
Every time y/n's with Abby or just not around I go visit the mirror, only to see the same vision again and again.
My father, I always see him.
But every time is a different vision. sometimes is him talking with someone, sometimes is him in a studio writing or reading something.
The mirror doesn't show you just the future, it shows you what you must see in order to be able to change it.
If the mirror shows me him, then he's hiding something.
I must know what.
I will know what.
