"who is she?", madara thought to himself as he saw the girl with the sharingan walk away. "never mind, it's time"
he looked up at the blood red moon. "everything will be okay soon"
y/n ran back to where everyone was fighting off ten-tails. "kakashi... where the hell are you?"
she went to the very centre of all the chaos, squeezing her eyes shut to sense his chakra. she felt an overwhelming need to see him.
"i miss you you fucking pervert"
finally, she felt it. it was faint and far away but it was there.
a hand was laid on her shoulder, making her jump up in surprise.
"y/n", it was minato, who seemed to have the same thoughts as her, "i'm going to where kakashi is. would you like to join me?"
"lord fourth", she gasped. as much as she didn't want to lose her cool, all she wanted to do right now was find kakashi and hug him and tell him she was pregnant like normal, boring people do.
except, nothing about her and kakashi was normal. or boring. but it would be nice to be boring if it meant she could have some peace and quiet with him.
slowly, she shook her head. "i think it would be better for me to stay here"
"are you sure?", he asked
"i'll stay here and help out to defeat juubi", she said, swallowing hard, "it's enough just for me to know he's safe"
"i'm happy naruto has comrades like you", he smiled
"just tell kakashi", she took a deep breath, "that he's not allowed to die"
"will do", minato patted her back, "see you, y/n. look after yourself. i'll bring him here soon"
"bye lord fourth"
she turned around, eyeing the ten-tailed beast viciously. "let's kick some tailed beast ass"
meanwhile, kakashi was at obito's throat, trying to work up the courage to kill him. obito was practically near death after the ten tails was extracted from him, and meant to use rinne rebirth to bring back the people lost in the war. but black zetsu prevented that from happening.
"don't do it", a voice told him calmly, "don't kill him yet"
the copy ninja looked up at the man who was there in a flash, very fitting for his nickname.
"minato sensei?!", he questioned
"i have a message from your girl", he said coolly
"YOU MET Y/N?!"
"you're not allowed to die, is what she said"
kakashi moved back, newfound motivation coursing through him, "her wish is my command"
back at the allied shinobi forces scene, y/n had begun to unleash what little chakra she had gained.
she interrupted the little competition that the konoha 12 were having among themselves.
"watch and learn kids", she said calmly
"Y/N SENSEI YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE RESTING", sakura scolded
"bite me", y/n snapped back
"wOah there why should she rest?", naruto questioned
"oh it's- it's nothing she just used a lot of chakra while destroying the zetsu", sakura tried to play it off as nothing
y/n closed her eyes, opening them only when she'd fully activated her sharingan.
"chidori", she whispered
running towards the ten tails, she effectively destroyed a few before the beast completely disappeared.
all this because madara had now become the jinchuriki of the ten-tails.
y/n groaned, "seriously?"
"yeah, seriously", madara yelled, "there's no escape now"
hours of chaos followed. although naruto and sasuke tried to the best of their abilities to defeat madara, it proved futile. soon, everyone that wasn't in sasuke's susanoo would fall under the irresistible genjutsu called the infinite tsukuyomi.
y/n looked everywhere for kakashi, now that everyone was in the same place. but her luck was such that she always missed him by a few seconds, causing her to get more frustrated with every passing second.
it wasn't long before she felt the chakra tree envelop her, absorbing her chakra and placing her too under the genjutsu.
"no no this can't be happening, he doesn't know. kakashi needs to know i'm pregnant."
she tried to resist the genjutsu but it was too strong for anyone or anything to handle it. tears fell from her eyes. this was probably one of the only times in her life that she'd felt so helpless and at the mercy of what was happening.
"this can't be how it ends"
"where's y/n??", kakashi asked, standing in sasuke's susanoo
"she's.... she's still out there", sakura hung her head, "kakashi sensei still doesn't know."
at once, he lost all rhyme and reason, beginning to walk out of the susanoo when sasuke stopped him.
"step aside", he said in a commanding tone to his student
"if you go out of here, you'll fall under the genjutsu too instead of getting her out of it"
although kakashi knew very well that it was true, even the mere thought of losing her caused a storm of internal conflict to brew within him.
slowly, he nodded. "you're gonna be okay y/n. i'm not gonna lose you no matter what. you've saved me countless times and now i'll save you."
"alright!", naruto boosted everyone's morale, "let's beat whoever comes our way!"
several attacks, variations of rasengan, and one sexy jutsu later
kakashi ran towards y/n's unconscious body, propping her head up.
"y/n", he stared at her, holding his breath, "you're okay"
"what the fuck happened? oh right, infinite tsukuyomi"
she slowly opened her eyes, squinting because of the sudden light falling into her eyes. "we won?"
he gave her that smile she loved so much, "we won"
"kakashi..", she blurted out the news she'd been holding in, "I'm pregnant"
the jonin froze, unable to process what he'd just heard. groaning a bit, y/n used her elbows to sit up trying to read his thoughts.
"say something"
slowly he pulled his mask down. she could see his bottom lip tremble. tears fell from his eyes.
"y-you-", he struggled to form words, breaking his sentence with a sob, "you are?"
"i can't tell if you're happy or sad", she raised an eyebrow
"i love you", he choked out, tears spilling as he engulfed her into a bone-crushing hug
she rubbed his back, feeling a smile creep across her face. "happy huh"
he pulled away briefly to face her, smiling when she noticed his eyes.
"kakashi your sharingan...", she brought a hand to his face
"madara took it", he explained
she gave him a dejected look. his sharingan had been part of his identity since he was 12 and she was amazed at how he didn't even flinch now that it was gone. she was half inclined to give one of her own eyes to him.
as if he read her thoughts, he shook his head, "nothing matters to me more than you, least of all my sharingan"
"but-"
"no buts", he smiled, "even if i don't have it anymore, you do. and maybe our kid will too"
she nodded shakily.
"this is gonna be some story to tell the kid"
just then, he lifted her up bridal style.
"kakashi i can walk-"
"no", he said in a strict tone that he usually only used with his students, "how long have you known?"
"remember when i fainted after killing the zetsus?", she asked
"oh my god", he sighed, "why the fuck did you keep fighting then?"
"i wasn't gonna pull out of the war just cause you didn't pull out in time", she rolled her eyes, wrapping her arms around his neck.
