Hayden POV
I am sitting on the metal table in the lab of the avengers tower, Clint is disinfecting and cleaning up my knuckles,
It was silent for a while until he spoke,
"You know Hayden not all of us are out to get you," He said
I just looked at him,
"What makes you say that?" I said annoyed
"I can tell you have a massive wall, but I just want you to know we are not here to harm you," He said
"Sure," I said
He sighed after putting everything away,
"Look were having a New Years Eve party later tonight why don't you come, get to know us, maybe you can have fun," He said
"I don't know I'll think about it," I said
"That's all I ask," He said smiling at me,
After leaving the tower, I am on top of a water tower, standing on the edge, looking down at the city,
Why? why does he try so hard to get me to know them better? is this some kind of ruse to earn my trust only to break it when I let my guard down, or is it something more sinister?
I sighed I looked at my phone to see that it's 9PM
I walked in an abandoned apartment and got dressed,
I can't believe I'm doing this, I thought
I walked the few blocks,
I finally got to the tower, sneaking past the crowd and guards, past reception, I take the Elevator to the floor, and once The elevator stops,
The doors open, and it's just the Avengers and some of their families,
Now I feel uncomfortable I was about to turn around, But I felt a hand on my shoulder,
I see Clint,
"Didn't think you were going to show," He said
"Yeah, we placed bets," Tony said
"Yeah, well kind of out of commission," I said showing them my swelled wrist,
"Well you need to keep it wrapped and elevated," Bruce said as he chuckled
"What made you come?" Nat asked
I just shrugged
"Just thought I would see what this party was about," I mumbled
Tony smirked,
"Well then, come on in there is food and drinks," Tony said
"Umm, Tony she can't drink," Steve said
"Right, Right, sorry, we have juice soda, and other non alcoholic beverages," He said
I just nodded
I have to say they are not too bad, we were all sitting on the couch, I had a orange soda, while everyone was talking and laughing,
This... this felt relaxing, something I'm not used to, not being on edge,
Then I noticed Nat and Clint looking at me,
I looked away, taking a drink of my soda,
Me and Wanda have gotten along so far, but I had to be cautious of her due to the mind reading thing,
Peter is okay, I know him from school,
But They are not too bad, I looked at the time,
"Well I better be going," I said standing up,
"See you tomorrow kid," Tony said
I nodded, and left,
