Both John and Evian were walking out of their apartment heading to go where Magneto was because of the meeting that was being held by other mutants. They were gonna try and recruit for the brotherhood and as much as Evian loved meeting new people she wasn't thrilled at the idea of having to deal with cocky bastards. She, after all, was already dating one.
"Is there a reason why I have to go?" Evian asked once again as she turned to look at John while they walked down the stairs of their apartment building. John rolled his eyes moving to wrap his arm around her shoulders bringing her into his side just as they stepped outside their building.
"Because we're recruiting and need your expertise" He answered with the same answer he always said whenever she was needed to come with him. Rolling her eyes this time Evian grabbed her pack of cigarettes from her back pocket before shaking out one cancer stick.
Not even needing to ask Evian lifted her cigarette towards her lips just as John raised his hand holding the lighter he still had rather than use his lighters that were strapped on his wrists. Lighting up the cigarette she hummed softly taking a hit from it as she walked with John.
The fire user didn't say anything flipping his lighter shut before placing it back into Evian's back pocket since it was always with her. Watching her slowly exhale the smoke he couldn't help but stare at her as she did.
As much as he seemed to hate her smoking he always that the even sight of her exhaling smoke was so beautiful. Another thing to her smoking was him giving his lighter. It was something so important to him and yet he trusted her with it so she used it often to light up her cigarette every time she smoked.
Shaking his thoughts away John placed his hand in her back pocket with his arm wrapped around her waist just as they made it to the small broken-down church where the meeting was at.
Sighing Evian flicked away her used cigarette before stepping on it in the process of them entering the church. "Keep close" John then whispered even though he knew she could handle herself. Still, he couldn't help but worry about her anyway.
Evian just nodded not saying anything as the couple made their way towards where they saw Magneto. Once standing beside them they stood together quietly and beside Magneto. Unlike what you'd think they were on either side of Magneto being in the perfect shape of a pointing arrow.
"No one ever talks about it." Magneto interrupted the person on the stage about the extermination of mutants. The cure. His voice caused every mutant to turn and look in their direction.
He stood up once he got everyone's attention and to which both John and Evian did the same. "They just do it" Magneto continued as he walked down the small lane between the seatings. "And you go on with your lives ignoring the signs all around you"
The three now stepped up to the small stage where the male mutant was talking on "And then one day when the air is still and night had fallen," Magneto turned to the others while John walked over to the male for him to step away and Evian being by his side as their leader talked. "they come for you"
"Excuse me but--" The male tried to interrupt but was stopped "It's only then you realize while you were talking about organizing and committees," John glared at the male to stay quiet as Magneto went back to turning to the other mutants "the extermination has already begun"
Evian stood up straighter stiffening as she listened to Magneto talk. As much as she didn't like him or trusted him he was right. With this cure. The so-called cure. It was just to get rid of all mutant's power.
"Make no mistake, my brothers." Evian scoffed keeping quiet when John gave her a warning glare since Magneto said brother's when there were obviously girls in the church right now. Including her. "They will draw first blood. They will force their cure upon us" He took a deep breath "The only question is will you join my brotherhood and fight.." His voice stern and strong "Or wait for the inevitable genocide?"
"Who will you stand with--the humans...or us?" He finished off stepping off the stage with both John and Evian once again following him. Just as they were leaving and the church is filled with whispers an Asian mutant male was making his way towards the three.
"You talk pretty tough for a guy in a cape" John was quick to turn around lifting up his hand and igniting the fire from his wrist "Back off" He warned glaring at the mutant as Evian stopped beside him ready to step in if needed.
When he did John extinguished the fire dropping his hand to his side while keeping close to Evian once he realized the mutant was now looking at Evian as she stood beside him. "If you're so proud of being a mutant" A female mutant stepped up towards Magneto "Where's your mark?"
Evian stepped forward ready to snap at the girl only for Magneto to hold his arm out to stop her. "I have been marked once, my dear, and let me assure you no needle shall ever touch my skin again" He lifted up his sleeve exposing the numbers of what he used to be called.

"You know who you're talking to?" John then asked only for the same male mutant to step up spiking up his skin showing his power "Do you?" At his threat, Evian stepped in front of her lover changing into her water body form with a glare. "Try me" Her voice was strong but bubbly since she was in her water form.

Once the mutant stepped back a bit Evian changed back into her regular form just as John pulled her back by the loop of her jean. He was grinning smirking at the fact that Evian was protecting him but also actually using her power.
"And what can you do?" Magneto asked staring at the girl who asked about the marks of being a mutant. Honestly, Evian just wanted to smack the girl because why would you want to mark yourself for being something you already know you are?
Mutants already get enough shit for having powers but to actually mark yourself? For what? power? It made no sense to Evian.
At his question, the mutant glanced at him before suddenly daring from the stage and then right back in front of him. Her form only being seen as a flash. "hmmm" Magneto smirked lightly "So you have talents" "That and more."
She then said with her own growing smirk but curious eyes "I know you control metal and I know that there are 87 mutants in here and none of them above a class three," She glanced at John then Evian and finally Magneto as she took a deep breath between her sentence "other than you three"
"You can sense other mutants and their power?" Magneto asked the girl with a hushed tone. Evian tsked softly rolling her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest taking a small stance. John behind her leaned into her form while his chin rested over her shoulder to keep her in place since she was being sassy as Magneto liked to call it.
The same mutant girl nodded her head slowly at Magneto's question "Could you locate one for me?" He then asked. By then Evian knew who exactly they were going for. Mystique.

John and Evian had just finished getting information on where Mystique was going to be. Now they just needed a plan on what to do tomorrow. So they were with both Magneto and the other new mutants until late.
Now the couple was finally getting home to get some rest before they had to wake up early in the morning. John was laying on the couch staring out the window while playing with the fire of his lighter instead of the wrist lighters that he took off.
Evian on the other hand was in the shower with the door wide open for the couple to talk openly in their small apartment. "Is there a reason why I can't join my girlfriend in the shower?" John called out as he glanced from the lighter to the direction of the bathroom.
"because it's a small shower" Evian yelled back as she leaned under the water that was already hitting her. The shower was small and every time they needed to shower John always tried to join her but got rejected every single time.
If they were to even try they would bump into each other with every little movement they made. That was how small their shower was.
John let out a loud groan leaning his head back as he suddenly let out a small shout. "Next time we move we are getting a bigger shower!" He commented angrily at the fact that he was the one that chose this apartment since Evian had chosen it last time.
From in the shower, Evian smiled shaking her head lightly at the fact that her lover was whining about the apartment simply because he couldn't shower with her. "Stop being a baby!" She turned off the water before reaching out to grab her towel.
"We can cuddle after you finish showering" She called out just as she stepped out of the shower wrapped in her towel to see John silently cheering by raising his fist up into the air. He always tried to hide the fact that he was a physically affectionate type of person but Evian knew he enjoyed their cuddles more than anything.
Walking out of the bathroom she leaned down kissing his lips softly startling him in the process before walking away to the dresser to grab clothes. "Go shower" She ordered waving her hand at him as she grabbed her clothes.
John pouted at the fact that he didn't get to kiss her back but nonetheless got up and listened to her commands. "Pull out the couch?" He asked as he started to disregard his clothes while Evian got ready with her own clothes.
"Kay" She answered over her shoulder as she pulled one of John's shirt's over her head before turning around to see John closing the curtains of the shower. Smiling she lightly shook away her dirty thoughts even though John was her lover.
Listening she pulled out the couch letting it turn into a bed before sighing once her body hit the softness of the mattress. "You ready for tomorrow?" Evian suddenly asked letting her thoughts free as she stared up at the ceiling with a small daze.
It took a few minutes for John to finally answer as he thought about it. "Yeah" He started off "you on the other hand" Evian grinned sighing softly as she listened to him "better stay or at least be in my line of vision."
No matter what they were doing he always told her that before they leave. Always. It became some type of tradition of him saying it. Evian wasn't annoyed with it but actually thankful that he cared so deeply for her safety.
"Yes sir!" She answered back with a small laugh when John called out to her to shut up embarrassed by her teasing. With no other words said between them Evian stared into space as she thought about everything that's changed.
She didn't regret her decision in following John but she did wonder what would have happened if they stayed at the school or if they were to go back. She had a feeling that they would be going back just not any time soon.
Ever since exploring her powers, she had a second sense of things and what was going to happen. She didn't know how but she just thought it had to do something with the balance of how water is.
If she was being honest she was curious to see what everyone's reaction would be when they go back but also what exactly would be the cause of them going back. Since if they were to go back then it meant that something would have to happen. Something big. Though it wasn't the time that that.
At least not yet.
