a/n: hey- so i'm back! i spent all my time arguing with myself over this story and what i should do. i realized that things are going to be difficult for me to write if there's no mafia or anything that the story of Banana Fish was built on so after a lot of thought i've decided to bring back the gangs but we don't know if a few certain people will die cause like i don't wanna be mean 😭

it's already February and ever since mid-January, Ash has been a bit distant. not like rude but he isn't around as much as he was. i'm not sure what the reason is but he doesn't seem like the cheating type. it couldn't be, because Shorter and Eiji are gone for the same amount of time as him. i've brushed it off for now because we have exams coming up and i'm busy studying all the time anyway.
"god damn it. damn it all to hell seriously." i groaned, slamming the text book onto the table. "problem?" i jumped. "hey Ash!" i smiled, hugging him. "yeah. exams start next week and i don't understand one word of this textbook." i complained. "well i can help you but i think you should go to sleep right now. you might just not be able to understand it because you're exhausted. it is pretty late." i sighed. "alright. but where have you been so late?" this is my chance. "killing people." he said. "haha very funny, fine don't answer me." i mumbled.
i let down my hair after washing my face and changing into my pjs. i stared at myself in the mirror for a bit. scanning over every feature of my face. my brain telling me all the imperfections. 'your nose is crooked.' 'your skin isn't clear.' 'dry lips.' 'dark circles.' 'ugly eyebrows.' 'bad e-' "what're you doing?" i looked up to see Ash behind me. "oh. nothing. goodnight Aslan." i whispered, walking off.
i was laying on my side while my hair covered my face. i sighed. "i can't sleep." i groaned, sitting up. "wanna talk?" i looked over at Ash. "sure." i smiled.
