You were walking towards Spencer's car. The both of you had immediately walked out of your apartment after Hotch called. You could see Spencer's hands shake as he was looking for his keys in his pockets. Once he got them out you snatched them from his grip. He looked at you mouth agape and confused.
"I'm not letting you drive like this" you walked to the drivers door
He didn't bother arguing and walked over to the passengers seat getting in. You pulled out of the parking spot and began to drive. From the corner of your eye you could see Spencer picking at his nails and his breath hitching. You held your hand out and he laced his fingers between yours.
"Thank you" you felt his eyes land on your face
"For what" you looked at him for a split second before returning your eyes on the road
"For having the kindest heart" he squeezed your hand
You felt your cheeks flush
"I'm so sorry that Cat ruined our night and basically interrupted you. What were you going to tell me?" he searched your eyes
"It can wait" you turned and flashed him a smile
You didn't want it to wait. You wanted to throw the words I'm pregnant at his face but this was definitely not the moment
...
You were both standing in the elevator with your hands still intertwined.
"Spence" you looked up at him
"Yeah?" he looked down at you
"We are going to find her" your grip tightened around his hand
He responded with an "I love you"
"I love you too" you smiled
The elevator rang and as the doors opened the both of you let go of each other's hands and began walking thought the glass doors into the bullpen. Heels clicking and he adjusted his coat. You were met with Derek
"Why are you both so dressed up?" Derek walked up to the both of you with an eyebrow raised
You had completely forgotten that you and Spencer were dressed up
"Uh-- long story, I have work clothes in my bag I'll change soon" you smiled
"How did she escape?" Spencer went back on topic
"Come on the rest of the team is in the conference room" Derek began walking and the both of you followed
As soon as you walked in everyone was staring directly at you and Spencer
"Long story" Spencer sighed "Now can someone tell me how she escaped"
"Yeah we will definitely talk about this later" Hotch raised an eyebrow and look towards Penelope
Penelope had a smirk on her face but got back on track. Footage of Cat's cell was now on the T.V screen. One moment she's there and the next she's gone. Before the footage cuts out to an empty cell she is clearly staring at the camera waving. As if she was saying goodbye.
"Fuck" Spencer pulled out a chair and sat on it with a huff
"All of the tapes have been wiped clean for exactly 15 minutes. Not only were they wiped, there was a riot so by the time everything was under control Cat was gone" Penelope's smile turned into a frown
"Garcia has anyone been reported missing in the last 24 hours?" Hotch looked from screen back to Spencer
"I can check" she sat down and opened her laptop "May I ask why?"
"There's no way this was a simple escape. It's most likely she has hostages somewhere in order to get Spencer" JJ jumped in
"We can't let that happen who knows what she would do to him" Rossi flipped open a file
"I've got something" we all looked to Penelope "Father and daughter Don and Eloise Brenner never came home last night after going out to watch a movie"
"Who reported them missing?" you chimed in
"Daughter didn't show up for school and dad didn't show up for work and then footage behind the movie theater shows them being pushed into a van" Garcia's smile was completely gone
"Footage?" Emily rested her hands on the table "Wouldn't Cat want to avoid any and all detection meaning no footage of her or her accomplices"
"Not if she is planning something big" You turned to look at Spencer. The light in his eyes were gone. You could see the dark thoughts in his head reappearing

You were in the bathroom slipping on your converse. Today you wore a green sock with tiny dinosaurs and a purple sock with orange zig zags. You wore converse long before you met Spencer but he got you into wearing the mismatched socks. When you had finished changing into work appropriate clothes you stepped out the bathroom and saw Spencer leaning against the wall.
"Spencer we are going to catch her" you walked up to him and pulled him into a tight hug
He rested his head in the crook of your neck and wrapped his arms around your waist. "She goes after the people I love and I'm scared of her hurting you or anyone else on the team"
"Baby nothing is going to happen" you buried yourself into him "We are going to throw her behind bars and then we are going live happily in each others arms"
He held you closer and tighter like at any moment you could slip away. Everything was going to be okay. You were going to catch Cat, tell him your pregnant and begin a new life.
Or so you thought
...
"Penny what time is it?" you leaned back in your chair yawning
"3 am" she handed you a cup of coffee
"Why can't Spencer have normal fans? I'm exhausted" JJ stretched her arms
"I wish I had normal fans too" Spencer sighed
A phone rang. It was Spencer's. You turned to look at him. He quickly stood up and put his phone on the table.
"Baby girl you ready for a trace?" Derek glanced at Penelope
"I'm always ready my sweets go ahead answer" she started typing
Spencer answered and put it on speaker
"Hello"
"Spencie!!" Cat shouted into the phone
"Catherine" he rested both hands on the table holding himself up
"Ouch Spencie that hurt" you could already see her crooked smile
"What do you want?" his fingertips turned white
"Woah slow down I think this is more about what you want"
"Don and Eloise" he slumped his head down
"That's right Spencie and I want you to play a game with me"
"Tell me where Don and Eloise are" his voice was deeper. The Spencer that used to be full of rage was coming back
"Only if you play with me" she pouted
"Is that what you want"
"Of course Spencie, it's about time you pay for turning my dear Lindsey against me"
"No way am I following you into another sick game"
A gunshot rang through the phone
"The next bullet will be in between Don's eyes. Come find me" she suddenly hung up
"I got a location" Penelope looked at her computer in amazement.
"Wait this was too easy" you slowly got out of your chair "This has to be a trap"
"We can't just keep waiting" Derek looked over to Hotch
"Hotch there has to be more to her plan we can't just go" you tried to fight back
"Let's go" Hotch and the team trailed behind him out the door
You harshly pushed the chair into the table
"Y/n calm down" Spencer began walking towards you
"This is ridiculous Spencer, how can we just go over there... it's a trap" you ran your hands through your hair. Worried of all the possibilities that could go down
"Come here" he wrapped his arms around you "I have outsmarted her before and I will outsmart her again, everything is going to be okay"
Everything will be okay. You repeated those words over and over in your head
...
"Anything?" you walked over to Emily
"No she won't budge. She wants Spencer to go in unarmed and with no vest. 2 more minutes and she said she will kill the father" she secured her vest
You began to hear Spencer raise his voice at Hotch. You and Emily looked at each other before walking over. Spencer began to take off his vest and un-holstered his gun.
"Hotch let me go in. If I don't go someone will die and it will be my fault"
"I am not letting you go in there unarmed we don't know what she wants" Hotch blocked Spencer from walking into the direction of the building.
"Fine" you watched Spencer furiously shove his vest and gun into Hotch's hand and walk away
"What should we do then" Derek leaned against the SUV
"Cat doesn't just kill anyone without a reason so we don't know that she will shoot" he sighed bringing his hands to his face. Taking in a deep breath.
"Are we really taking that risk?" JJ crossed her arms over her chest
"Either way there is a risk" you sighed turning around to look at the building
But instead you saw Spencer walking towards it. Unarmed. No vest. And no plan.
"Spencer no wait wait" you whispered You out starting to run towards him but you felt an arm hold you back. "Spencer!" You yanked your arm out of their grip and began walking again. "Spencer wait please stop!" but once again you were stopped and this time it was harder to fight back "Let me go stop it!" arms were being wrapped around your waist "Spencer please!" you began to cry out but he kept walking eventually entering through the doorway.
"Y/n you can't go in" you heard Dereks voice beside your ear
He let go of you and you just stood still. It felt like all the air had been sucked out of you. You replayed Spencer's voice in your head
Everything is going to be okay
But it didn't feel like it. The love of your life was in a room with a psychopath who hates his guts. How could anything be okay? You watched as an older man and a young girl step through the doors and began to run away from the building.
"Hotch we can go in now, the hostages are free" you desperately breathed out
"If we do she could see that as Spencer cheating her game" he put his hand on your shoulder for reassurance "It could go worse"
You scoffed and pushed his hand away and walked over to Derek
"I had to hold you back you know that" he searched your eyes for forgiveness
"I know" you bent over. Hands landing on your knees and your back against the SUV
...
It had been half an hour and once again. Hotch wouldn't budge. He wanted to wait
"Maybe it's working and he's winning" Rossi's hand landed on your shoulder
"Maybe" you sighed. Breathing in the cool air and breathing back out. You looked up at the sky. You began to look at all the stars and then your eyes wandered to the moon. For a second you felt at peace
Just for a second
Until you heard a gunshot come from inside the building. Your eyes met with Hotch. You could already see the regret fill his eyes. Before saying anything you decided to run towards the building. You felt an arm grab you but you elbowed them away. Once you entered there was no sign of Cat. Only Spencer laying on the floor with a pool of blood starting to form. For a second you couldn't move. Your world began to collapse. You pushed all the bad feelings you had to the side and rushed over to Spencer.
"Help! We need an ambulance now!" you screamed out but you didn't even know if anyone was listening or was even near you. You landed on your knees and knelt beside Spencer
"Y/n?" he was struggling to keep his eyes open
"Hey baby" tears ran down your cheeks "Stay still help is coming"
"Woah that's a lot of blood" his breathing was unsteady and he groaned in pain
"Don't look at that look baby look at me" your hand cupped his cheek
"I love you" a tear ran down the side of his face
"I love you too but you are going to be okay so don't get all cheesy" you choked out
"If anything happens to me just know that you were the best thing to ever happen to me. Like I know everyone says that in the movies but I'm serious you were the best thing that could ever happen to me. Like you are my whole world" his eyes were falling heavy
"Nothing is going to happen so stop saying that"
"Kiss me" he said just above a whisper
You leaned forward and pressed your lips against his. Tears made the kiss wet but you didn't care. His lips were warm and you could feel a smile form under your touch. You pulled back and pressed your forehead against his. You opened your eyes and noticed that his eyes were closing for longer periods of time.
"Come on baby stay awake for me" you rubbed his cheek with your thumb
His eyes would barely open. "Help me!" you cried out
"Baby wake up! Wake up! Please don't leave me I'm begging you to wake up" his eyes were closed and his breathing was getting slower and slower
"Please Spencer please wake up!" tears were falling down your face and your voice was shaky
"Please don't leave me, please please please I'm begging you!" you screamed out
"I'm pregnant and your going to be a dad please wake up for us please" you cried into his chest.
Before you knew it someone was pulling you away.
"Ma'am please step away" her voice was muffled
Spencer was pulled away from your arms. You felt empty. Everyone around you was moving expect for you. Everyone's voices sounded like they were muffled and underwater. The world around you was spinning. Time moved so fast you didn't even realize you were in a chair in the waiting room of a hospital.
"Y/n you should sleep he's going to be in surgery for a while" Emily pulled you into a hug
"I can't" you wrapped the FBI coat around you. You wondered where that came from
"We will wake you up when the doctor comes out" she pulled you into her lap and began to stroke your hair
...
You woke up to a pain in your back and neck. You lifted yourself off of Emily and looked around. Everyone was sleeping but JJ wasn't in your sight. You walked up to the T.V screen in the waiting room and looked at the status of all the patients

You looked at the time and noticed that it had only been 3 hours. That was good right? He was alive. Suddenly a wave of nausea hit you. You tried breathing in and out but you couldn't ignore it. You walked out the waiting room and ran down the hallway into a bathroom. Emptying your stomach contents and then flushing the toilet. You sat on the floor and leaned against the wall breathing heavily. You rubbed circles on your stomach and looked down
"Not now baby, your daddy needs us" tears began to fall down your face
You slowly got up of the floor and walked over to the sink. You washed your hands and rinsed your mouth. You looked in the mirror and saw a that 18 year old girl waiting for good or bad news again. You shut your eyes and opened them again. Now you just saw yourself, bags under your eyes, face puffy, and a bloodstained shirt. You began walking down the hallway back into the waiting room. JJ was standing with her back turned against you. The rest of the team was awake. Tears on the brims of their eyes. They looked up at you. There was a tightness in your chest. JJ turned to face you. Tears ran down her face. You didn't want to hear the words that were about to come out her mouth.
"He didn't make it"
You tried to speak but no words came out. The room was spinning and your head was going 100 miles an hour. It felt like you couldn't breath because you couldn't. No air would enter your lungs. You felt yourself being put in a chair. Head being slowly pushed down in between your knees
"Come on breath mama" Derek rubbed your back
"He can't be dead he just can't" your heart began to shatter "I love-- loved him"
"We all loved him and were going to miss-" Penelope spoke but you cut her off
"No I mean I loved him" you lifted your head up and leaned against your chair
"Oh honey I'm sorry it had to go down like this" she placed her hands on your knees
"We loved each other" you felt everyone's eyes land on you "I'm carrying his child" Tears started running down your cheeks again
You heard gasps and hands rubbing your back
