BEK DIDN'T DISLIKE A LOT of people, but Gordon Walker was surely one of them. She sat across from him in the same bar from earlier in a new attire same as Dean. She glared at the hunter who grew uncomfortable under her stare but ignored her. Eli, the bartender, walked up to their table with a tray of only two drinks for Gordon and Dean. Dean reaches for his wallet but Gordon sends him a stern look.

"No, no, I got it. I insist." Gordon says and hands Eli the money while Dean grabs one of the glasses and raises it in the air. "Another one bites the dust." Gordon grins widely and takes a large drink from his. Sam and Bek decided not to drink that night and its not because they don't drink, its because Sam felt uneasy and traumatized after watching Bek decapitate that vampire without any remorse. Bek on the other hand would be damned if she had another drink with Gordon Walker.

"Bek, you gave that big-ass fang one hell of a haircut," Gordon smiles at her. "That was beautiful, absolutely beautiful."

"You alright, brother? Relax Sammy." Dean tells him and looks away, slightly embarrassed in front of the hunter that his brother was being awkward. "Yeah, lighten up Sammy." Gordon cocks his head and leans back. "He's the only one who gets to call me that." Sam retorts.

"Okay. No offense meant. Just celebrating a little — job well done." Gordon assures him .

"Well, decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." Sam shrugs. Bek clears her throat and straightens her posture, feeling slightly awkward. "Oh, come on, man, it's not like it was human. You got to have more fun." Gordon tells him.

"See! That's what I've been trying to tell him." Dean snaps his fingers at Gordon. "You could learn a thing or two from this guy."

"Yeah, I bet I could. Look, I'm not gonna bring you guys down. I'm just gonna go back to the motel." Sam says and stands.

"You sure?" Dean rubs his face.

   "Yeah." Says Sam.

"Uh. . . yeah, me too. I'm ready to crash," Bek lies rubbing her hands along the side of her jeans.

"Sammy . . . remind me to beat that buzzkill out of you later, alright? Both of you." Dean tosses his brother the keys to the Impala.

"Something I said?" Gordon asks, watching the two hunters leave the bar.

"No, no. He just gets that way sometimes." Dean shrugs and sighs softly. "I tell you what. Match quarters for the next round."

             ───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────

IT WAS A COMFORTABLE SILENCE on the way back to the motel. Bek sat in the passenger seat, silently mouthing the words to the song that played over the radio but her mind was still on what she did back at the docks in front of Sam and so she turned down the radio and cleared her throat. Sam looks over at her, sending her a confused look.

"Sam, I just wanted to apologize about earlier at the docks." She says, staring at the side of his face. "You had to do what you had to do. Don't apologize." Sam assures her as he recalled the event. Bek nods, looking away and out the window.

Sam cleared his throat, choosing to bring up the topic of Gordon, which Bek did not expect at all. "So, wanna explain what happened between you and Gordon?"

"It's complicated." Bek says and a small chuckle leaves her lips.

    "Elaborate." Sam was curious.

Bek hummed. "Uhm, well — he almost killed me. And I for one, believe that it was on purpose." She looks over at him to see the look he gave her. "Why would he do that?"

"Beats me." She says, shrugging and leaning her head back against the seat and closing her eyes.

             ───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────

"SO I PICKED UP THIS crossbow, and I hit that ugly sucker — silver-tipped arrow right in his heart. Sammys waiting in the car, and me and my dad take the thing into the woods, burn it into a crisp. I'm sitting there, and i'm looking into the fire, and i'm thinking to myself, 'I'm 16 years old. Kids my age are worried about pimples, prom dates. I'm seeing things that they'll never even know, never even dream of. So right then, I just sort of —"

    "Embraced the life?"

"Yeah." Dean says to Gordon. "How'd you get started?"

"First time I saw a vampire, I was barely 18. Home alone with my sister. I hear a window break in her room. I grabbed my dads gun, run in, try to get it off her. It was too late. So I shoot the damn thing, which, of course, is about as useful as snapping off with a rubber band. It rushes me, picks me up. Flings me across the room, knocks me out cold. When I wake up, the vampires gone . . . my sisters gone." Gordon explains.

"And then?" Dean asks, leaning toward him.

"Then . . . try explaining that one to your family. So I left home . . . and then bummed around looking for information — how you track them, how you kill them. And I found that fang. It was my first kill." Gordon says.

"Sorry about your sister." Dean raises his glass and Gordon nods, his mind going distant.

"Yeah, she was beautiful. I can still see her, you know, the way she was. But, hey, that was a long time ago. I mean, your dad — it's got to be rough." Gordon comments, taking a drink from his own glass.

"Yeah, you know, he was just one of those guys. Took some terrible beatings — just kept coming. So you're always saying to yourself, 'he's indestructible. He'll always be around. Nothing can kill my dad'. And just like that . . . " Dean snaps his fingers, "He's gone. I can't talk about this to Sammy. No, I got to keep my game face on. But, uh . . . truth is, i'm not handling it very well. I feel like I have this —"

"Hole inside you? And it just gets bigger and bigger and darker and darker? Good. You can use it. Makes you hungry. Trust me, there's plenty out there needs killing, and this will help you do it. Dean, it's not a crime to need your job."

             ───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────

ONCE THEY MADE IT TO the motel, Bek excused herself to the bathroom. Sam sat on the edge of one of the beds and pulled out his phone, dialing the Roadhouse phone number. "Roadhouse."

"Hey Ellen. It's Sam Winchester." Sam speaks.

"Hey, Sam! It's been a little bit. You boys are okay, aren't you? I know Bek is, she always is." Ellen comments, chuckling softly.

"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine. Got a question. You ever run across a guy named Gordon Walker?"

"Yeah, I know Gordon. He's a real good hunter. Why you asking?" Ellen asks.

"We ran into him on a job. We're kind of working with him, I guess." Sam shrugs to himself, rubbing his head.

"Don't do that, Sam." Ellen quickly says. "Get Bek the hell away from him."

"I-I thought you said he was a good hunter." Sam says.

"Yeah and Hannibal Lectures is a good psychiatrist. He is dangerous to everyone and everything around him," Ellen says sounding real concerned.

"She told me he almost got her killed, but not the full story." Sam says and his eyes look toward the bathroom door that was still closed.

"Let me just say this and I'm sure she will agree. If he's working on a job, let him handle it and move on." Ellen says.

"No, Sam, you just listen to what i'm telling you, okay?" Ellen says.

    "Yeah, Okay."

             ───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────

GORDON AND Dean sit in the bar. "You know why I love this life? It's all black and white. There's no maybe. You find the bad thing — kill it. Most people spend their lives in shades of gray. Is that right? Is this wrong? Not us." Gordon explains.

"Not sure Sammy or Bek for that matter, would agree with you, but, uh . . ." Dean shrugs taking a drink.

"Doesn't seem like your brothers much like us." Gordon says and Dean removed the glass, looking at Gordon with a defensive look. "I'm not saying he's wrong — just different. You and me, we were born to do this. So was Bek. It's in our blood. Bek comes from a long line of hunters . . . trails back to the fifteen hundreds at least."

    Dean stared at him uneasily.

             ───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────

WHEN Bek left the bathroom, not long after, Sam was no longer in the room and she assumed he went to get something to drink or maybe even eat. Luckily, at the local gas station they stopped at, she had grabbed a cup of macaroni and cheese.

She laid stomach down on one of the beds, blowing on the macaroni before she shoved it into her mouth and chewed, while keeping her eyes on the television across the room. The door opens and Sam walks in looking dazed. Bek furrowed her eyebrows at him and sat her cup down carefully.

"Sam, is everything okay?" She asks but before he could answer, she was thrown off the bed and onto the ground. She landed on the ground with a loud grunt while Sam was grabbed from behind and a bag was thrown over his head. "Sam!" Bek shouts out and she stands, turning and facing Eli from the bar who stood on the bed and growled at her.

She immediately went for his feet and took him down but where he was faster, he got the upper hand and got on top of her, pinning her wrist above her head, roaring in her face. She turned her head, avoiding the fangs and the venom that dripped from them. "Eli!" She heard a woman shout in a warning tone.

That was the last thing Bek remembered was looking back to Eli who held something heavy in his hand and he slammed it over her head.

             ───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────

SAM WAKES UP. The bag is pulled from his head and ElI from the bar opens his mouth to reveal sharp fangs. Sam stared up at him.

"Wait. Step back Eli." A woman says and he does as told, a little reluctantly. She walks to Sam and takes the cloth away from his mouth. "My name is Lenore, I'm not gonna hurt you. We just need to talk." She says.

"Talk? Yeah, okay. But I might have a tough time paying attention to much besides Eli's teeth." Sam snaps.

"He won't hurt you either, you have my word." She says.

"Your word? Oh, yeah, great, thanks." His mind goes to Bek and his eyes widened.

"B-Bek. Where's Bek?" Sam asks and Lenore looks up at Eli who shrugs at her.

"I'm afraid she may still be at the motel." Lenore tells Sam. It made him relax a bit to know she wasn't there but was she okay?

"Okay, lady, no offense, but you're not the first vampire i've met." Sam says.

"We're not like the others. We don't kill humans, and we don't drink their blood. We haven't for a long time." Lenore says.

"Is this some joke?" Sam scoffs.

"Notice you're still alive." Lenore tilts her head.

"Okay, uh, correct me if i'm wrong here, but shouldn't you be starving to death?" Sam asks.

"We found ways — cattle blood." Lenore looks over at Eli. "You're telling me you're responsible for all the —"

"It's not ideal. In fact, it's disgusting. But it's allows us to get by." Says Lenore.

    "Okay. Uh, why?" Sam scoffs.

"Survival. No deaths, no missing locals, no reason for people like you to come looking for people to come looking for people like us. And we blend in. Our kind of practically extinct. It turns out, we weren't as high up on the food chain as we imagined." Lenore says.

"Why are we explaining ourselves to this killer?" Eli asks.

    "Eli." Lenore warns.

"We choke on cows blood so that none of them suffer. Tonight, they murdered Conrad, and they celebrated." Eli glares at Sam.

    "Eli, that's enough." Lenore snaps.

"Yeah, Eli, that's enough." Sam tests his limits.

"What's done is done. We're leaving this town tonight." Lenore says.

"Then, why did you bring me here? Why did you hurt Bek? Is she even okay? Why are you talking to me?" Sam asks, growing worried for his friend.

"Believe me, I'd rather not. But I know your kind. Once you have the scent, you'll keep tracking us. It doesn't matter where we go. Hunters will find us." Lenore explains.

"So, you're asking us not to follow you?" Sam asks.

"We have a right to live. We're not hurting anyone." Lenore shakes her head.

"Right, so you keep saying. Except, my friend is in our hotel room right now hurt." Sam snaps.

Lenore leans in close to him making him try to lean as far away from him as he could. "Fine. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to let you go. Take him back. Not a mark on him."

    Lenores words confused Sam.

Eli led Sam out the door with his hands tied behind his back and he has a bag over his head. A man stands outside and he helps Eli toward the red van.

The red van drives away from the house.

             ───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────

GORDON POINTS OUT A PLACE on the map. "This is the best pattern I can establish. It's sketchy at best," he says.

"Looks like it's all coming from this side of town, which means the best would be around here someplace, right?" Dean points at another part of the map as they walk toward the motel room.

"Yep, that's what I'm thinking. Problem is, there's 35, 40 farms out there. I searched about half of them already but nothing left. They're covering their tracks real good." Gordon says.

"I guess we'll just have to search the other half." Dean says and Gordon looks up at him. Dean unlocks the door to his motel room. He walks in and immediately freezes. Bek laid on one of the beds unconscious and her head was bleeding. He drops the map and runs forward, bending down and flipping her over.

    "Hey, Bek. Bek!"
