Heeey, okay I know I haven't really updated for a long time despite it being quarantine and all and I'm sorry
But this request came into my mind while I was about to drift to sleep so here I am with a new update!! Thank you LotteStarburst for such a cute request <33 though it took 8 months but still, I hope you like it >.<

Sawamura runs on top of the slope of the hill, looking down at you who was walking along with a guy he didn't know. He didn't have any right but Sawamura could feel the same ugly feeling in his chest as he watches you laugh at whatever the guy was saying as you two pass along where he and the rest of the team were playing around in the snow
'Maybe (First name)-chan just really doesn't have any feelings for me.' Sawamura couldn't help but let his negative thoughts run through his mind, for the past few weeks he has been trying to show you he liked you, that he wants to go out with you yet you still don't notice it or maybe you could tell but just don't want to turn him down and say it yourself that you're not interested in him
Sawamura watches you from a distance as the guy turns to you and seemed to say something to you as he grabs your hand
There it was, Sawamura was sure he lost his chance of going out with you
Then he remembered something Chris said to him when he found out about his crush on you when he was in his first year
"Just be honest with your feelings and admit it." The older man advised him but Sawamura was too nervous to do it so he went with other methods to show his feelings for you
'This might be my last chance.' Sawamura thinks to himself as he raises his head and shouts from the top of his lungs:
"(First name)-chan I like you!"
You, who were planning on going to the convenience store with your cousin, turn your head towards the top of the hill and towards Eijun who was breathing heavily, "I really really like you (First name)-chan!" He repeats just as loud as the first one, "And you might be with that guy so I thought I should let you know!"
"You don't even have to answer my feelings." Now he was sniffing
Confused, that was the only word to describe how you were feeling, 'guy I'm with?' You turn to your cousin who was holding back his laughter as he listens to the whole ordeal
"That the guy you were asking about? Damn what taste you have." He snickers teasingly while you sigh and just decide to ignore him and instead focus on Sawamura
And 'Answer to my feelings.' You were sure Sawamura never did anything that could count as a confession
"Eijun!" You yell out as calmly as you can, "I'm not sure what you meant with the others but I like you too!"
You can feel your cheeks heating up despite the coldness, no, this wasn't how you expected your confession would turn out. You always had the idea that it would be just between the two of you under a Sakura tree, the wind blowing softly as petals fall on two of you as you confess and then Sawamura pulls you into his arms afterwa- But now that was out of the question, it was cold and you were wearing such lumpy clothes that didn't really outline your figure the way you wanted. Your nose was red from the cold wind and everybody who was nearby could hear you and Sawamura screaming your feelings for each other
Definitely not how you imagined it to be
But you just went with it, if this meant that you could finally have your long-time crush as your boyfriend then you wouldn't mind the embarrassment... even though you knew the baseball team and cousin would never let it leave down but you were willing to put up with it
Just for Sawamura Eijun
"Bu-but whenever I try to show you my feelings you don't even notice!" He yells out, surprised by your answer. Was he happy you accepted your feelings? Of course, he was! But still, you were with that unknown guy and it still doesn't answer why you never responded
"What?" You asked incredulously, "When did you do that?!"
"This past few weeks!"
"This past few..." You muttered to yourself as you tried to remember everything he has done to express his feelings but none came
But then you remembered the ivy by the door in your classroom and him waiting for you
You were just about to enter your classroom when Sawamura opened the door and pointed at the top of your head
"Look (First name)-chan!" He said excitedly pointing at the green plant on top of your head
At that time you didn't really think much about it, although it was weird that someone put something like that instead of mistletoe so you just laughed at it
"It is kinda amusing." You smiled and pat Sawamura's head
Then he invites you to watch him practice
"(First name)-chan go to the field, later on, 'kay?" He asked you after a few days of the ivy incident
"Huh? Okay? Is something happening?" You asked him, finding it weird that he was asking you when you already went to his practice almost every day to cheer him on
"I'll show you a sight you've never seen before!" He announced with a smile while you nodded
"I'm glad he's excited about training."
Then him asking you to make him food
"(First name)-chan, can you cook?" Sawamura asked you as he looked at you while the two of you ate your lunch
"Hmm? Oh yeah." You nod slowly
"Then can you cook for me?" His eyes were almost as bright as the light in your room when he asked you this
"Sure, but why?" You asked him out of curiosity
"Be-because training might be too hard and I-we might be too tired!"
You hummed in acknowledgment
After Sawamura said that, you decided to make snacks for the whole team
You didn't even want to think about the snowman and that ball that almost hit you in the head when he insisted you catch for him or that time he made you do batting practice with him late at night
you want to massage your temples, so those were what he meant? Sure some could count as a confession but it was so sudden and... out of context that you didn't understand that he was implying that
"Eijun!" You yell, "I- okay fine I didn't get what you were trying to do back then but I do like you too! A lot too!"
"But who's that guy?" He pouts as he pointed at your cousin beside you who was now crouching on the snow as he cackles at the whole scene
You really didn't blame him, it must be a sight to see two high school students shouting their feelings to each other on such a cold day too
"He's my-" You sigh, forcing your cousin to stand up by pulling the back of his jacket with all the strength you had, "-cousin!" You nudge him so he could stop laughing and introduce himself to finally end the whole misunderstanding
"Yeah, dude! This shit's not really my type of girl you know?" He gives you a look of disgust which you just roll your eyes and returned your attention back to Sawamura
"See?" You motion for your cousin to leave which he huffs at, but he leaves anyways, "Now can you please come down here so we could talk properly?" You ask in exasperation
Sawamura looks from you and back at your cousin and nods enthusiastically, smiling widely at his teammates who were either watching the whole thing in amusement or laughing their asses off at the whole scene
Finally, when he reached you, you could only sigh in relief
"Gosh, you surprised me." You say to him as he moves in front of you
"But you meant it right? Liking me and-"
"Yes, Eijun, I meant it. As weird as it is I really really like you a lot." You couldn't help but break out in a smile when Sawamura beams at you
"WAH (FIRST NAME)-CHAN'S MY GIRLFRIEND!" He cheers as he picks you up to spin you around making you laugh at his excitement
"That's enough Eijun." You pat his shoulder so he could put you down
"But, okay, I'll be your girlfriend." You kiss his cheeks which turn bright
"Everyone raise your snowballs and get ready to throw them at the new couple in 3...2....1!" Suddenly dozens of snowballs come pelting towards you and Sawamura
You guess there was always a fine to pay for happiness
