Author's POV
Kai entered the room just as he finished talking to the doctor about Sehun's condition. His eyes caught a little boy still standing beside the bed.
He sighed deeply and closed the door behind him. His legs brought him closer to the boy.
"Jungwoo?," he called out and pulled a chair nearby before sitting down beside the bed.
Jungwoo turned to the elder who called him. His eyes were swollen because of the non stop crying since just now together with his reddened and puffy cheeks.
"Samcheon," he pouted and jumped into the elder's arms. "When will Sehunnie wake up?," he muffled in the middle of the hug.
Kai took a glance of his unconscious lover on the bed and looked away with pool of tears gathering under his eyes.
He hummed to calm himself down before he fixed his gaze on the little boy. The elder brought the boy to sit on his laps.
"Sehunnie will wake up soon," he tried to reassure the little boy. "We should let him rest for a bit, okay?," he ruffled Jungwoo's hair affectionately.
Jungwoo nodded his head but his eyes were still fixed on Sehun. He didn't like this feeling, he didn't like seeing Sehun like this. He missed seeing those sweet smiles.
It was no difference for Kai. He wouldn't want any other things but to see Sehun.
The doctor explained to him about his condition and he could at least felt relieve to know Sehun was fine and he only needed few times to rest his body. But he still needed times until he would wake up.
As the two young people were in their own deep thoughts, the door of the room was opened and a figure entered it.
"Jungwoo?," Suho approached both of them with a worried expression. He widened his arms as the little boy began running over him.
He ran right into Suho's arms. "Mommy," he finally cried out, sobbing hard inside the elder's embrace.
Suho slowly ruffled his hair to calm him down. He planted a kiss on the top of his son's head, muttering few comfort words into his ears.
As soon after that, Kris approached both of them. He then turned his gaze towards the younger brother of him and looked at him in concern.
It must be hard for Kai.
He moved to him and rested his hand on the younger's shoulder. "Hey, he will be fine," he said, comforting the brother.
Kai looked up to his eldest and nodded meekly. "I feel bad for not protecting him," he uttered slowly while he fixed his eyes on the figure laying on the hospital bed.
Kris sighed deeply. "It was not your fault," he reminded him. "I'm sure Sehun wouldn't like it if you keep blaming yourself like this," he continued.
The younger only nodded as a response.
"Um...I already called Luhan and they are already on their way here," he said to break the silence. "You don't have to worry okay?," he tried to appease his brother.
"Thanks, I didn't remember at all to tell them," he internally face-palmed himself for not remembering it at all.
Kris patted his shoulder to show support. "I will get going now," he said as he saw Jungwoo was already sleeping inside Suho's arms. "Don't tire yourself and get some rest, okay?"
The younger nodded, giving a small smile to his elder.
"We will come to see Sehun again later," Suho said softly, with his soft stares.
With that, the couple together with their son walked out of the room and left the only man inside the room.
He inwardly sighed, studying the features of his sleeping lover. Despite his condition right now, he still looked gorgeous and enticing.
With that a feeling of guilt crept up to his heart. He extended his hand to grasped the younger's left hand, stroking softly with his thumb.
"Sehun," he called out and hoped the latter would at least hear his voice.
"I miss you, baby," Kai pulled a soft and weak smile. "I'm sorry," he whispered those, gently kissed the latter's forehead.
He sat down back on the chair and laid his head on the bed, still holding the younger's hand inside his. He wouldn't want to let it go.
A few minutes passed he was still in the same position before slowly, he drifted himself into a nap. Feeling better to know Sehun was with him.
"Kai? Kai?," he jolted awake as he felt the shake on his shoulder together with a voice calling his name. He blinked his eyes few times to get his vision clearer to see the person in front of him.
He then saw Baekhyun with his concern smile, looking at him. He also spotted Chanyeol behind the elder brother together with Luhan and Kyungsoo.
A heavy breath escaped his lips. He glanced at the sideway and noticed their still intertwined hands.
"You should go and have a rest," Baekhyun sounded after a while to let Kai fully woke up. He knew the youngest was facing a hard time right now.
Kai shook his head. "Its fine, Hyung. I'm resting right now," he replied and looked at Sehun.
Baekhyun sighed. "I mean a proper rest," he said. "You haven't eaten anything since this morning," he reminded him.
The younger still refused. "I don't feel like eating yet, I'm not hungry," he uttered.
Kai would still be Kai. It was hard to ask him to do something he didn't want to do.
"But you will get sick. You know Sehun wouldn't like it if you get sick right?," this time it was Kyungsoo's voice who said it. He was still worried.
Kai looked at him for a few seconds before turning his gaze towards Sehun again.
He turned around and met Luhan's eyes. There was no expression of anger inside those but just worried.
"I–I'm sorry," he mouthed while fixing his gaze on the floor beneath. "It was my fault for not protecting him," he didn't even dare to look up into the elder's eyes.
Luhan exhaled sharply. He walked towards the other and patted him gently on the shoulder.
"I didn't blame you, Kai," he stated. "We will be here with Sehun so you don't have to worry. Go home and have a rest," he uttered those, reassuring the younger that everything would be fine.
Kai sighed. He finally nodded before making his way to the door with Chanyeol trailing behind him. He didn't think he could drive by himself in this condition.
The journey home was filled with silence from both of the young man.
"What do you want to have? I will buy it for you," Chanyeol broke the silence and glanced at the boss in concern. He was like his brother after all and it was worrying him to be seeing Kai like this.
Never once since he started working with Kai he ever saw the latter showed this kind of expression. It was hard to bring out his emotion.
Kai shook his head. "I'm not hungry," he replied curtly.
Chanyeol sighed deeply. "You still need to eat something. I will ask the maid to prepare once we got home," he firmly stated.
The younger huffed. "I said I-
"This is not my working hours so I have the right to order you as your brother," the elder cut off before he could protest. He knew Kai would not refuse if he said these.
He was right as the younger once again huffed as a reply and weakly nodded his head.

Kai stormed out of the car once it stopped right in front of the hospital. He didn't even bother to turn back when Chanyeol called out his name.
His mind was only filled with one name.
He scurried towards the only room and opened the door to see Luhan and Kyungsoo inside before his eyes caught the sight of someone on the bed, looking at him with a soft smile on his face.
Without thinking longer, his legs brought him to the bed and his arms wrapped around the latter to bring him into a tight embrace. He could not even think of anything but to embrace the person.
His ears caught the chuckles, ah how he missed hearing that voice.
"Miss me so much?," Sehun buried his face into between of his neck, smelling the soothing and calming smell he loved.
Kai cupped his face, making him look into those worried and happy orbs. "You have no idea how much I missed you," he said those with pool of tears under his eyes.
"I'm sorry," he mouthed. "Because of me you got hurt," he planted a fond kiss on the latter's forehead, not bothering about other people in the same room as them.
Kyungsoo, who noticed the situation hinted them to go out and left the pair to have their own times for now.
Sehun nodded, feeling the tears cascading down his cheeks as well. He had been making the latter worried and no one could explain how much he missed being inside this pair of strong arms.
"It's not your fault...I never blamed you," he whispered those. Using his hand to softly stroked the lover's hair, calming him.
