Chapter 2:
Unrest

The moment they arrived back in Beacon Hills, Scott and Imogen had reluctantly separated from each other. Scott had gone to catch up with Liam since according to Mason, Hayden had left with her sister. The result was a heartbroken Liam who seemed to be wallowing.
Meanwhile, Imogen had caught up with the girls and Isaac who seemed to want to avoid Liam who reeked of sadness. The days had passed by quickly and Imogen missed the little apartment. As much as she loved her friends, she really missed spending time with Scott. The only time they saw each other was at night before going to bed. The girls insisted on dragging her away while Scott was either busy helping Liam or helping the lacrosse team. Which according to him was not in the best shape.
While her boyfriend was busy with lacrosse practice, Imogen learned from Lydia that apparently Lydia's mother had somehow managed to get Liam, Mason, and Corey pushed up a grade. She seemed to want to get all three supernaturally involved teenagers out of school as soon as possible.
"How lucky of them." Isaac muttered as he flipped through the tourist guide for his Europe trip with Malia.
"I wish I could've skipped a grade." Malia added, frowning as she pressed the refresh button on her laptop.
Allison sighed, "At least you didn't have to be held back a grade." She didn't like recalling all the moving she had done, especially knowing the reason why.
Imogen helped Lydia close the suitcase filled with Malia's clothes. They had helped the werecoyote pack because she had waited last minute to pack everything. They also had to make sure she didn't accidentally pack something that might get her detained at the airport.
Her phone buzzed and checked it, her eyes reading over the message from her boyfriend. She furrowed her bows. Isaac noticed her expression and he exhaled, "I don't like that look. What happened?" He really wanted to go to Europe where he was away from all this craziness.
"So apparently a wolf just walked up onto the field during practice and both Scott and Liam followed it into the woods." Imogen paused, her boyfriend sending her images of what he saw.. "They found it dead along with the rest of it's pack. Oh, and spiders came out of its eyes." She added with a grimace.
"Does he need us to go?" Allison asked curiously.
Imogen furrowed her brows, "No, he's not sure it's supernatural. It could've been a parasitic infection." She told them.
Malia exhaled, "Well thank god because I'm not going anywhere except for Europe." She pursed her lips when her flight kept appearing to be rerouted.
"It doesn't seem like you two aren't leaving tonight." Lydia pointed out, reading the screen.
The werecoyote groaned, "This can't be happening." She fell on her bed.
Isaac watched with amusement, "Since it seems like we aren't leaving tonight, should I order pizza?" He asked. Imogen and the girls nodded. Scott told her that he needed to have a quick talk with Liam before coming over.
"Make sure to add extra cheese!" Malia said. She eyed Zeus who laid on her stomach and her anger disappeared as she cuddled the small dog.
Imogen watched her cousin with an amused gaze before telling the group that they should go to the living room since the tv was downstairs.

The following day, Imogen got dressed and went to the nearest flower shop. She bought three bouquets of flowers and headed to the cemetery.
She got out of the car and made her first stop, leaving a set of flowers for Grace. Everytime she had left flowers, there was always a pang of guilt that threatened to swallow her. Grace had been innocent and got killed because of her. After a few words, she made her way over to her mom and uncle. She cleaned their tombstones just as she had for Grace before setting placing their bouquets down.
She sat down on the ground, "I know that you two probably already know all this but, I miss you both. I won't be able to visit for a while since I'll be away." Her eyes flickered to her uncle Bens tomb, "But, Malia promised she'd come by more since I won't be here. So you guys won't be lonely."
On the other side, both siblings had snuck past the ancestors. They watched their niece and daughter hold back tears as she began telling them about her apartment and what her school looked like. It wasn't really breaking the rules if they visited their niece/daughter when she was visiting the place their bodies were buried. They weren't allowed to follow her outside the cemetery.
"We need to warn her." Ben whispered, they had noticed the people on their side getting antsy about the rumors floating around that supernatural beings were being hunted down.
Viola pursed her lips, "But how, neither of us have magic. Only the ancestors can do it and you know what mom said, we can't interfere with the living."
"This is your daughter, Vi. We have to let her know that she and her friends including my daughter are in danger." He hissed.
She swallowed, "I love my daughter and I wish we could help but not even Grace will be able to reach her. And you know how the other witches feel about her now. Their feelings changed when she activated her werewolf side." There was a reason that the ancestors rarely showed up with the other dead supernaturals.
He exhaled, clenching and unclenching his fists, "I know. But she has no idea that she won't be leaving here especially when she finds out that the people around her are in danger."
"Sometimes I wish she could just let things be." She murmured, watching her daughter with a worried gaze.
"You mean like Peter."
She flushed under his gaze and huffed, "Shut up. I didn't mean it like that, besides Peter has changed."
He rolled his eyes, "Right, that's why he hasn't come by to visit her since she came back."
She opened her mouth to argue but then she remembered something. "Oh my god! We can't reach Imogen but we can definitely reach a banshee!" She exclaimed.
He blinked, "Oh, right. But if we leave, the ancestors will know."
"I can help." They turned around to find Grace. She glanced at her student who had always dropped off flowers and made sure her tombstone was clean.
Ben looked confused, "How did-"
"Nevermind that... I'll go warn the banshee. You two stay here and enjoy your time with your niece." She disappeared before they could argue.
The siblings shared a look before deciding that Grace was right, they should enjoy the time they had left with Imogen. Afterall, she wouldn't be able to visit them while she's busy fighting the anuk-ite and the hunters.

When Imogen got home, she found Malia bringing down her suitcase with her laptop tucked under her arm. "Can we put these in your car so we don't waste any more time?"
It was obvious to Imogen that her cousin was way too eager to leave Beacon Hills. Not that she could blame her since she and Scott enjoyed their brief time away. She nodded, "Sure. We can head over to Scott's now if you want. I know Lydia is supposed to meet up with us since her flight leaves tonight too."
"Well mine should've left yesterday." She mumbled with a pout on her lips.
Imogen grinned, "Is it still being rerouted?"
Malia opened her laptop, frowning. "Yep." She closed it and they began putting the suitcase in the car. Luckily she was only taking only one large suitcase and a carryon. Isaac planned to do the same. She was a little afraid to see how many suitcases Lydia packed. "Can we get lunch first? Cuz I'm starving."
"Alright." Imogen agreed, preferring to spend time with her cousin before she left. She knew that once Malia and Isaac came back from their trip both her and Scott would already be back at their apartment. The next time the two cousins would probably see each other was probably going to be during the holidays.
She glanced at Zeus who was sleeping away on the couch. Omar promised to look after the small dog while she was away or whenever Malia was busy.
The pair of cousins got in the car before driving off to find a place to eat.
