Crossing Universe

"I'm sorry with how I acted earlier. I hope you forgive me. I came by to pay what I owe you." He said not really looking at her.

Although Bok Joo would love to see this boy squirm a bit more she was also touched that he came all the way to apologize.

"You didn't have to do that. It's fine." She told him.

"No I insist. Besides I brought my friends with me. We would like to have more of your chicken it was delicious. We could order some more right?" He asked hesitantly.

Maybe it was his sincerity or probably just his puppy dog face that Bok Joo seated them in the restaurant and took their order. As she was serving them she couldn't help overhearing them talking about strategies and competitions and she couldn't stop herself from asking too if they were into some sort of sports. She then learned they were in the rowing team of their High School. Meeting a fellow sports enthusiast she told them she too was an athlete, a member of the weight lifting team in her University . Upon hearing this they invited her to sit with them and they started talking until several hours later.

As they were leaving irritating guy who turned out be quite a decent person turned to her and said.

"We'be been talking the whole night but I have yet to know your name noona. I'm Yoo Chan by the way." He introduced himself smiling at her.

He had a beautiful smile.

"Nice to meet you Yoo Chan. I'm Kim Bok Joo"

And thus started their friendship. Despite Yoo Chan being younger than her they discovered they had a lot of things in common for one their love of chicken where Yoo Chan would ask her to stay and share the box with her everytime she delivered and she would always grab the opportunity to be the one delivering it to their house. She even got to meet chick Jr.  Sometimes he would be joined by his friends and they would be laughing and spending time just talking about anything.

They also shared their love for their sport. They would cheer on each other before the competition, congratulating and celebrating each other's success and encouragement in every defeat. 

They also shared their woes in matters of the heart. Bok Joo had been sharing with him her latest Doctor crush and Yoo Chan just recently found out he was crushing on his new found noona who was staying with them.

Their age gap didn't affect the fact they were each other's kindred soul.

She was glad she could come visit him as it had been a while since they've talked and seen each other. She missed her friend.

Yoo Chan looked to be deep in thoughts as he still hadn't noticed her coming in.

"Hey you! Looks like you've been thinking too hard Chan ah!" She called out.

Yoo Chan was pulled out from his reverie and found himself smiling as he saw Bok Joo standing a few meters away from him. It's been a while since he had last seen her. She had always been a ray of sunshine in his life. Despite the fact that they've been messaging to see how they've been doing, seeing her in person in that familiar track suit and pouty face was just what he needed.

Although their friendship started off in the wrong foot and that up until today Bok Joo never knew that he got a blasting from Jennifer after she had left that day they first met. Jennifer told him off that the delivery girl was telling the truth and that she saw her fell down from her bike and inspite that the poor girl still made the delivery for him and the least he could do was apologize and pay her full. Feeling guilty Yoo Chan spent most of the day finding the restaurant's address and recruited his friends to go with him to see her.

It was the best decision he ever made and the rest was history.

"Bok Joo noona!" He called to her and he quickly stood up to greet her.  He walked over to Bok Joo and encased her in tight hug to which she returned with enthusiasm.
