it was a cold winter evening, and mckenzie was warming up by the lit, stone fireplace within her living room. "ah, this feels nice," mckenzie says to no one in particular, considering she was sitting alone. mckenzie, wrapped in a blanket, felt a sudden wave of lonliness. the furry and green man that mckenzie saw occasionally at the supermarket, suddenly popped into her mind.
"i wonder how he's doing? i know he doesn't particularly like this time of year." she thought to herself. mckenzie liked the winter, yes, but what mckenzie liked more was the grouchy green man with the adorable little dog.
"should i go visit him?" "would he shut me out?" fuck it. throwing on a big, warm, black winter coat, grey snowopants, brown winter boots, and gloves and a hat, she began her treck up the mountain.
halfway through, a sudden gust of wind comes and knocks the hat off her head. the hat carries for sometime, before being crushed within a deep pile of snow. was this a bad omen? was the hat like her heart, beating affectionately for the grinch, and he was the snow. he was the snow that crushed her hopes, with no chance of survival.
maybe she should turn back? mckenzie questioned if this was the right decision. "no turning back now mckenzie," she said aloud, trying regain her confidence that plummented so easily.
reaching the front of the grinch's hideout, mckenzies nerves skyrocketed. her shaky hand balled into a fist. hesitantly she went to knock on the door. her fist wavered above the door.
knock knock
she did it. she knocked.
the door slowly twisted. "hello." a grouchy voice called out to her.
"u-uh h-hi," mckenzie called back. the grinch fully opened the door, and his face contorted into something of shock when seeing the young woman standing in front of him.
"mckenzie? what are you doing here? get inside you're going to catch a cold you idiot." the grinch huffed and fussed over mckenzies wellbeing. mckenzie finding this cute and a blush forming onto her already rosy cheeks.
she stepped inside, warmth flooding through her body. she unzipped her jacket, revealing the black tank top beneath. the grinch saw this, and red rose along his face. "here," he forcefully grabbed the coat out of her small hands. "i'll uh go hang this up." he finished. she silently bobbed her head up and down.
he exited the room, and mckenzie took this moment to try and calm herself down. within her internal stress, she didnt notice the silent tears streaming down her face.
the furry man returned to the room, and looked towards mckenzie in confusion and worry. her eyes held saddness and anxiety, something he hated to see on the womans face. "mckenzie?" he hesitantly questioned. "what happened? are you okay?"
mckenzie nodded her head, her eyes lowered to her hands that were fiddling with each other. suddenly a warmth was placed atop her hands. a blob of green was all she could see through the blurry tears.
one of the grinch's long slender fingers trailed up to her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes. "please, dont cry." his hand moved to cup her cheek, while his thumb whiped the strayed tears.
"mckenzie, there's something i've been meaning to tell you." she looked at him, in a silent manner to continue. "i love you, i have for a long time."
a bright smile formed onto the brunettes face. "i love you too." quickly, he pulled her face into a long and passionate kiss. both of them enjoying each moment.
the end.
