"Aria, Aria there saying the names on t.v" my mom called.
I looked up, my eyes widened and jumped out of my bed. I ran down the stairs and went to the living room. I slid in with my socks gliding on the floor. I look towards my mom.
"Have they said the names?" I asked very concerned.
"no, but there about too." My mom said with a tear rolling down her face.
I sat on the couch, hugged my mother gently and waited inpatiently.
"Now time for the names." The news man said.
I sprinted up lifting my head of my moms shoulder.
"Okay. The 7 contestants are Marie Worth, Keeper Quinn, Aria Harper, Joshua Blake, Brian Lynne, Mabelle O'Conner, and Travis Willam. That is all."
Then I heard it...My mom crying.
I looked over.
"Mom, I'm going to be...fine" I said with uncertainty.
"Oh Honey, do understand what this means..."
"I know, Mom"

•Lets continue•
Most of the day, Me and my mom spent crying. See my mom hates this kind of stuff. When my parents were 18 they had me and this was the new law. They had wished very hard not to be put in the contest. One day, my mom and dad were in the living room watching the news. They were seeing who's names got called. Then they heard it "Eli Harper". My mom never wanted him to leave, but he had to or he would have been put to death. After all the stages they announced the winners, "Gary Martin, Triller Scott, and Teresa Cain. Those are the winners, folks. I am sorry for everyone's lose."
My mom never got over his death.
It's been 17 years since then. I don't remember much of my father, but I know he was a great man and father.
{The next day}
"Mom, I love you!" I said with tearing pooring out of my eyes.
"Oh honey I love you so much 💓."
I hugged, squeezing hard.
I sniffled and went to get in the car that was in our drive way. I waved goodbye as I shut the door.
I got in the car putting my backpack beside me.
"Name?" The driver asked.
"Oh ah-"
"You don't know your own name? Pathetic." He whispered.
I continued with "Aria Harper."
The drive was about a half an hour. The driver had a very deep voice. He had tan skin and a bald head. His ears were pierced and he had black sunglasses on.
-Half an hour later...-
We got to this big place. It had so many widows. Oh the widows were so...I don't know.. fascinating.
I got my bag and opened the door once we parked.
"Stop, miss Harper. I need to check your bag." The driver said.
"Uh- ya sure here." I responded while giving him my bag.
He checks everything.
Most of it was clothes, really.
He handed me my bag.
"Okay miss Harper, you're all clear. So basically, you just get with the group." He says while getting in the car.
*WTF! That's was very little information. I swear people keep getting more shallow by the second. Chile anyway-*
I walked into the large building seeing 6 people looking about.
I see this man, He's very attractive.
He has pale-tanish skin with a lip ring. He has dark swoosh-hair. His eyes were a beautiful blue green color. Oh I was biting my lip by the sight of him. He was wearing a black hoodie and baby blue ripped jeans. He had a dark red backpack over his shoulder. He was looking at the clothes, specifically the beanies.
I hear a voice behind me.
"Hey!"
Who could the voice be?
Go find out in the second chapter.
