"Lights out, and we better not catch you sneaking out at night you rascals!" The instructor says this before turning out the lights, seemingly smirking because she knew that all the kids hated darkness. Except one. Sarina sighed quietly as she put her head on her pillow. She smiled to herself, knowing that this was the time of which she found happiness in. She calmed her thoughts down until they were eventually silent. She closed her eyes and saw the only thing she wanted to see. Darkness. Since she had no thoughts at the moment, all she was doing was looking at darkness. It was as if she was falling down a endless hole surrounded by one color, black. And all she needed was the color black to calm her down, and allow her to forget everything that happened in her life. No, she was not sad, but only filled with no emotion what so ever. She knew what to expect in her dreams. The only thing she ever dreamt of was darkness. She did not find this terrifying, for blackness to her, was the color of no emotion. No sadness, no sorrow, no pity. It was just, black

Sarina woke to the sound of gunshots, and screams. She did not panic, nor did she pay attention. She simply laid on her bed, listening intently, without any thoughts what so ever. She heard running footsteps and gunshots growing nearer and louder. She opened her eyes calmly, to find the sight of a gun pointed towards her. She looked at the man, as he looked deep into her eyes, trying to find fear. Of course, he failed. He shot his weapon. Sarina silently thanked him, as she fell back into the hole of darkness. She fell for it seemed eternity, but she was not fazed, because for the first time, she had joy. She had joy because she could be with darkness forever, and not have to worry about her own life. She felt herself hit the floor, but it did not hurt. A voice, suddenly appeared, "Ah, you must have 'died' haven't you?" The voice was emotionless, and showed no sympathy at all. Sarina was still surrounded by darkness. But she liked it that way, she did not care what the voice was going to do to her, for she had no feelings and felt no meaning in life. "I am darkness, the one without emotions. The one whom you have enjoyed most of all." "And I am merely just a soul who has lost its body, and is lost in darkness." Sarina replied with no feelings. It was as if Sarina had a part of Darkness in her. Sarina sat calmly, and awaited some type of instructions, or to wake up in a different place. "You seem to be expecting something." Darkness said this while looking into Sarina's eyes. Even though she could not see Darkness, she could feel it's presence. Sarina simply stared back, but she did indeed expect something to happen. "Well, if you want something to happen, I'll give you this. You are not dead. You are merely reaching me through your mind, and you're time here is almost done. I have nothing else to say but be gone." And with the snap of Darknesses finger, Sarina was in a medical bed, surrounded by other beds that contained other children. She sighed, as she put her head down and shut her mind of all its thoughts and simply looked deep into darkness. She suddenly had a thought pop up by accident, what if darkness has a secret, a meaning, to life? What if darkness conceals the meaning to her life, to everyone's life, what if it conceals the answer to the question she repeatedly asked herself, why am I alive, and why do I not have the urge to care about my life? She thought about this intently, before closing her thoughts as well as her eyes, and stared down into darkness. Darkness had to have a answer to her questions.
