Her voice echoed through the hallways till she met me..

“Danielle!” I said giving her a fake smile.

She ran up to me and pulled me into a hug.

I hissed in pain.

Sure, I wasn’t as sore as usual, but it did hurt from time to time.

“Oh gosh! I haven’t seen you fuh the longest time!”

I smiled,

Her accent was still as strong as ever,

“When did you come?”

“Must be a good hour ago,”

"What time is it?"

"It's after 12 child, I come here expecting you to be waiting outside for me and when I get in the house I realize your ass still upstairs sleeping."

I chuckled.

“I thought you were coming next week.”

“It was supposed to be next week nah, but mummy had some meeting and I rel didn’t wanna be in the house by myself so I got a ticket and came down here one time!”

I smiled, for real this time.

“But you get tall! Check ting.” She beamed.

“Danielle, I’m 5’3.”

“I’m 5’6.”

“Tall bitch.”

She pushed my head.

“Taller and older.” She smiled.

“Whatever,” I said swiping my hand across the air.

Then the idea hit me.

“Danielle you’re 18 now?”

“Yupp,” She beamed.

I rubbed my chin as excitement filled my eyes.

“Wam to yuh face gyul? dry so yuh eyes open wide wide,”

“Ignore it,” I said,

“Well leh we go upstairs nuh.”

"I wanted breakfast."

"Ellanae the food not going anywhere."

"Finee."

We walked back upstairs and she followed me into my room and she dropped back on my bed as I sat on my green chair as I picked my laptop up off the desk and turned it on.

“Ooooohh,” Danielle said jumping up off the bed and walking over to my wall where I had all my pictures, “Who’s this?”

“Who’s who?” I asked signing into my facebook.

“Curly head hugging yuh around yuh waist,”

“Oh, Him.” I blushed.

“Yuh lie.”

“What?”

“You pick up a man?”

“Danielle,” I laughed, 

“Nah, Yuh lying. Ellanae you have no man.”

“His name’s Jacob.”

“Little Ella’s all grown up now! Well yes.” 

“Danielle.” I said glaring at her.

“Yes Ella Bella?”

“Don’t call me that.”
