It was a warm sunny day with birds chirping at the window sill in little Dory's room. She was sleeping peacefully hugging her pink teddy tight which her father presented during his last visit. He gave it as a pre-birthday gift as he was not sure if he could visit her for her birthday.

''Wake up Dory!! it's already 8'' her mom's voice was gone unheard just like her alarm's snooze.

''DORY YOU ARE GOING TO MISS YOUR SCHOOL BUS IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP NOW!'' the heated yells triggered Dory into action.

She rushed into bathroom grabbing her towel and toothbrush. She made a quick job of brushing and bathing that within next 10 minutes she was at downstairs with her furious mother brushing her hair into short pigtails that bounces with each step.

She was munching on the breakfast toast and gulping down her milk alternatively when her stomach began to give disturbed noises of nature's urge, she ran chewing the remaining toast into her parent's bathroom.

''DORY!!''

No reply as she was busy relieving herself.

''DORY!!!! SCHOOL BUS ARRIVED COME FAST!''

''COMING MOMMY,'' she yelled back even though she didn't get to complete her business. Still she flushed the toilet and came running down shouting-''I AM COM--'',

''DORY YOUR SCHOOL BUS LEFT!'' thundered her mother.

Dory shivered at the thought of having to ride with her bad-tempered mother. Noiselessly she got into the backseat of their car as her mother began to list Dory's faults and flaws.

''I'm really getting tried of your lack of punctuality. You are still no small baby to sleep all day Dory, You are not going to Kindergarten anymore, you have to attend primary school involving attendance, home works and report cards,'' her mother accused as she drove the car.

'' I'm not your father to let you do things the way you like. You are old enough to understand that how difficult it would be for me to raise you alone,'' Dory nodded silently as her mind began to wander back to the times she had spent with her father laughing and playing happily. She ached to see him all day even though they face-timed every night.

''I cannot keep on looking after you, you should have known it by now to be done with pooing as you brush and bath,'' another nod.

''Have you even brushed and bathed properly today?'' her mother asked with her eyes still on road.

Dory nodded in silence looking down at her hands.

''HAVE YOU GONE DEAF OR BECAME BIG-HEADED TO NOT REPLY??'' her mother yelled for not receiving a verbal response.

''S-sowwy mommy, i-i- bu-shed and ba-bathed po-pa-ly'' she stuttered with quivering voice at the brim of tears. Fortunately the car soon came to halt in front of the school ending her mother's complaints.

''Okay Okay, now don't cry and make a mess of running nose. Love you, study well'' her mother patted her head and kissed her cheeks Leaning back from her driver's seat.

'Ok-kay Mo-mmy, I will'' dory swallowed her tears and replied in a small voice as she got down from the car and ran into her class kissing her mom goodbye in return.

Dory hastily rubbed her eyes with back of her palms to erase any trace of tears as she walked into her class. She surveyed around eagerly for her best friend- Gloria to go and sit beside. But she was nowhere to be seen. Downhearted with her bestie's absence, Dory sat all alone. After some 5 minutes her mathematics teacher came in with a pile of papers in her hands.
