One Step Closer

I breathed a sigh of relief as I plopped down onto my freshly made bed in my new house.

"Finally. A place to myself." I sighed out loud.

It's a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom house that I managed to get my hands on. Secluded from town but not too secluded. Just in case people unwanted show up.

Each day I work on my powers a little more. Just to make sure that I'm prepared for whatever finds me and whenever it finds me.

I know you're curious. I was too when I found out what I could do. But to ease your minds, I'm a witch. Not a powerful witch of course. Not yet at least. I'm working on it, don't you worry.

My phone rang distracting me from my thoughts. I quickly picked it up seeing that it was my mom.

"Hey how are things? Is it safe?" My mom said the last part quietly.

"Yes, mom. It's safe here for now. How are things there? Are they still looking for me?" I stood up walking to the newly furnished living room.

"Yea. They've already searched the house twice. They've figured out that you've left town. I'm not sure if they know you've moved states yet."

I sighed. I don't know when this will ever be over.

"Okay mom. I'll let you go. The longer we're on the phone the easier it is for them to track me. I love you. Stay safe."

"Alright Aly. Let me know if anything weird starts happening. I love you." And with that, the line went dead.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Alysia Nicci. Last name pronounced Neechi. First name pronounced as it looks (Aleesya). I'm 21 years old and come from a long line of rich witches. Which allowed me to get into this beautiful house in California. Probably the busiest state to live in. As I hoped for.

I am currently running from witch hunters, including a few witches that don't like my family. I'm the last one in my family bloodline, which they don't want to continue.

Why do they want to demolish my bloodline? Because we are the most powerful witches in the witch kingdom. If the bloodline continues, they'll keep going after whoever is the last in the family. Question number two; Why are there witches involved with witch hunters? Because these witches don't like being in this descent of people, so they want to make sure that I'm finished off, and any other witches are destroyed. So they help the hunters with locating easily locatable people.

And there's my story.

I enjoy being a witch. The powers you can use. The way you can protect yourself.

It's a dangerous life, really. I wouldn't wish for anyone to be put in my position. Things get complicated and you have to start questioning every move you make at least twice.

My phone dinged with a notification, pulling me out of my thoughts.

Here we go with the questioning.

I scrolled through his instagram to see if I could find any links that could possibly make him a part of the group that's looking for me and I couldn't find any.

He had green eyes, and light brown hair. He wore rings on his pointer finger and his pinky finger on both hands. He had a bright smile that showed in most of his pictures.

Though some of his pictures were daring. Sensual, almost. Attracting more eyes to those pics.

"Sure." I said to myself as I clicked 'accept' at the bottom of the page.

Hey. My friends dared me to randomly message you because they saw me scrolling through your instagram and they're currently watching me type this out to you. Um. So I'm Noah Williams, as you can see by my name. But I clicked on your profile from the discover page because I guess you did some cool makeup look and everyone liked it so I continued to look through your page and my friends caught me. So here we are 

I laughed to myself a little, but immediately went to type back. Though he seems cool enough to be friends with, I still have to be weary that he's a hunter, or even a witch himself.

Okay. Maybe he's not part of the hunters. But still. I did what he asked and pulled up youtube, typing Noah Williams in the search bar.

His channel popped up and I clicked on the icon.

"50k subscribers. Nice." I laughed slightly to myself.

So you're popular I see. I'll watch some of your videos later. So why did you really message me? You know you don't have to do what your friends say, right?

Yea I know that. But, you're pretty and I figured I'd shoot my shot ya know?

I haven't had a boyfriend in a few years. The last guy I was with left as soon as I told him about my powers. He said he didn't want anything to do with that kind of stuff. He knew it would put himself in danger and he didn't want to die, if that were to happen.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to try with someone else. It's been a few years and it would be a shame to put this house to waste.

What's your family like?

Not a bad question, but I won't go into detail.

I don't really have a put together family. My dad left years ago. I don't have any siblings. My mom and I live away from eachother, but we're still super close. Not much to tell honestly. How about yours?

We're pretty close, most of us. I live in a little apartment in Los Angeles. My family lives in San Francisco, so we don't see eachother too often. But I've got an older sister. She lives over in New York. Super far away. My mom, dad, and little brother are the ones in San Francisco.

No shit? I live in San Francisco too! Maybe we could meet up sometime :)

I can't tell him my mom lives in New York. Just in case. Some things need to be kept from him.

Yea. I am lol. I'm here visiting my family for a couple of weeks.
