Practice Match (Part 1)

Hinata's POV

Kageyama and I were practicing out quick attack as always. I'm not sure what everyone else was doing, but we all turned to the door as Takeda-Sensei ran into the gym.

"We got it! We got a practice game against Aoba Johsai!" He spoke through breaths, breathing heavily. My eyes lit up "Really, we can play Aoba Johsai again" Takeda nodded twice "Mhm, but practice is over so we should cleaning up"

The team nodded as we started grabbing the volleyballs that were across the gym, and put the equipment away.

Not to brag, but we won the practice game. We went over to the bench to talk about the game afterwards. I didn't see Sugawara in the group, so I assumed he went to the bathroom. Afterwards some of us got a drink of water or something. While I was hanging around the bench I saw Sugawara talking with Oikawa.

Suga's POV

"You don't really play during the games do you?" Oikawa sorta smirked at me, tilting his slightly. "Well, during games no, but Kageyama is our main setter and he's really good so it's fine" I put my hand on the back of my neck.

"How about a deal. You come to Aoba Johsai, and you can be our setter y'know get the recognition you deserve. I haven't really seen you set, but I know that you have some strategy." He held out his hand, probably wanting me to secure the deal. "I'll have to say no, I can't just leave my team behind. Plus if they find out I left the team to play with out guys they'd probably be upset or something."

I'm not sure why he thought I would take this offer, my team is family at this point. Not to mention the fact that the season has already started why would I transfer now.

"I'll give you time to think about, but if you come with us then you won't be on the bench every game." I watched him walk away, then I headed back to my team. Everyone was wrapping up ready to go back to Karasuno.

When we were on the bus back I guess you could tell I was focusing on something. Daichi nudged me in the side with his elbow "Hey, you good there?" I looked at him for a moment then nod and looked back at my shoes "Just thinking"

Why would Oikawa want me to transfer, I mean yeah it's my third year and I'm typically benched, but that gives my time to find strategies. 'Ugh why am I considering this I can't leave my team behind' I let out a light huff, then the bus stopped once we were back at Karasuno.

We practiced a bit in the gym before heading home, Daichi and I were walking together when I decided to bring up my thoughts in a way

"What do you think would happen to the team if I left?" I wasn't sure what other approach to use, but I don't think I can tell Daichi what happened with Oikawa. "Well do you mean like after we graduate or if you left in the middle of the year" He spoke while looking at me confused.

"If you mean once we graduate then as much as we don't want it to happen everyone on the team knows it will and they'll work around it. But on the other hand if you mean leaving by yourself, we won't have anyone to strategize so that would be harder to work around and everyone might have to work on their feet. Why?"

"Heh, nothing I was just wondering" I said folding my hands while walking, Daichi dropped me off at my house and we said our goodbyes.

I grabbed my volleyball and went to my backyard to practice setting, ever since I started getting benched I have been practicing more and more at home to catch up. The main reason I'm even taking the deal into consideration is since I'm a third year, if I don't play in college then this is my last year.

The only question is, would I rather not play and be with the people closest to me. Or play with a different team and then have backlash from Karasuno. I could get a chance to play my final year, but should I risk losing my friends.
