Home Is Where I Want to Go

Jolene Madden ch.1

                     Mr. and Mrs. Madden were very rich; they made stuff for a living that cost hundreds of dollars. They adopted Jolene when she was around four. Jolene was now 14 at the time, she had been home schooled for most of her life and had no friends. Jolene has blue eyes with short curly brown hair, shaped almost like an afro ; she always seemed to wear flowers or plaid dresses with a pink or white cardigan and a hair band, even in the winter. She acted no different than any other kid, she loved to explore and look at all of the different things in the world ,although she didn't have much greenery to see since she lived in a big city.

                     Jolene's parents are always joking around about how someday they're going to "rule the world". On this particular Sunday evening Jolene came home from exploring outside she overheard her parents saying how they were gonna rule the world again; of course Jolene thought they were joking like always. This time I don't think they were. For dinner they ate sweet potatoes with barbecue ribs, Jolene's favorite. While they ate her parents were acting real suspicious, they kept smirking in a funny way and laughing at each other. "What are you two laughing about that's so funny?" Jolene said. "Ohh nothing." Jolene's mom said as she smirked more. Soon after that Jolene got ready for bed, said goodnight to her parents and went straight to sleep.

                        She woke up in the middle of the night hearing whispers. she hopped out of bed and put on her purple dressing gown, white slippers, and turned on the flashlight of her phone. She creaked out of her room quietly hearing the whispers louder. She went near her parents room and realized that they were still awake. Confused, she looked through the creak of their door trying to listen. Then "SLAM" her mom opens the door. Jolene hid behind a plant nearby. Both of her parents walked out of the room into the basement which they use as their lab. Jolene is never allowed in the lab unless her parents are with them. Jolene knows that she shouldn't go inside or else she would get into big trouble. Though her curious self told her to. She turned off her flashlight, and tiptoed inside.
