"Dad! Please! I-I promise I'll be better! I'm so-"
Before she could even finish, a huge amount of blood came from her mouth. She tried her best to take quick and small breaths, so her lungs wouldn't ache, but by how loud her screams for mercy were, all of her attempts to numb the pain were useless.
"You had just one job, Killjoy. Just one, yet you managed to fail and destroy our whole plan." - An man in front of her said, he wore a business suit. She couldn't see his face, her sight was already getting blurry, as her whole body was losing strength by the second. But she kept there, on her knees.
"Dad- I'm really sorry... Please. Just one more chance... I promise I won't fail again..." - He didn't speak a word, Killjoy was already feeling a relief go through her body by the silence, assuming he'd have mercy on her, but she was taken by surprise.
"I already gave you too many chances. Meanwhile, the other Killjoy carries her team to victory, you can barely even upgrade the system of your robots on your own." - He snapped his fingers, as the girl soon heard the sound of footsteps on the floor, coming closer to her.
In a few seconds, she felt the hand of a woman carefully be placed on her mouth. The woman behind her sighed and spoke a soft "I'm sorry, Joy" with the Australian accent she already recognized.
Killjoy made sense of everything that was going on and tried her best to escape Skye's grasp as fast as possible, even with her whole body screaming and aching in pain, but it was all useless.
Before she could even think, she felt another sting of pain on her stomach, worse than any other. She screamed, but by the placement of Skye's hand, it was useless.
The taller woman behind Killjoy felt the young techie's last breath, it was heartbreaking to see her dead body on the floor, with blood dripping out of the mouth and her eyes still open but with no sign of life anymore.
"Sage..." - The man said once more, with Sage getting back up and going into the dead body, only to bow once more and carry the techie's corpse on her arms, making her way out of the room.

Sage couldn't help but stare at her friend's lifeless gaze. The "Dad", was someone heartless and he doesn't have mercy on anyone. Killjoy was an extremely important agent on the team, she always battled her heart out on the battlefield, and believed that what she was doing was right. She was so young and so naive she didn't even know that Kingdom was only sucking that planet's resources dry. All they fought for was a complete lie, and even if they won, even if they manage to defeat the VALORANT Protocol, they would die either way.
Sage kept running with the body in her hands, she shook her head and made the choice that would change her life and possibly get her killed. Killjoy was too young to die, either way, she was a lovable child, and almost like a daughter to Sage, so even if they executed her she knew Killjoy deserved a second chance. By her experiences, perhaps she could even help to give an end to the Kingdom's plans. It was worth it.
On the way, she stumbled on a few of the clones. More specifically, Brimstone and Viper who had left that same room she was before killjoy got executed.
She didn't have to explain anything with details, only the sight of Killjoy's state was enough to motivate the other ones to put their lives at risk for the techie.
"Here it is." - Viper spoke up, adjusting the teleporter to one of the floating islands. She didn't know the exact code of every island, so it was taking a considerable amount of time to open the portal. The precious time they didn't have, and they already could hear footsteps coming from outside. During all of this, Brimstone gave them time with his smokes and molly.
"Shit, shit!-" - Out of pure desperation, Viper tapped any number on the Keyboard, soon hitting her head on the Teleporter's base structure. Wich, by almost a miracle it worked and it opened to one of the floating Islands. Either it would go well, or it would go super wrong.
"Darn it... They're coming closer." - Brimstone spoke up, staring at Sage. His gaze was so fearful yet so determined and saddening, she decided to take the last decision. Using almost all of her strength to resurrect Killjoy and for their misfortune, she didn't wake up right away and her heartbeat was soft and weak. She sighed before pushing the techie to the teleporter, praying for someone to be there and to take care of her.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the Kingdom employees bursting through the door. But not quick enough for the portal to keep open, thanks to Viper who closed it right away.
