A coin for your story

It is said that history be writ,
by those who have won,
and those that have lost, have lost.
Have lost their story, their side of the coin, their winnings, their deal,
and even their hand.

So, if their song is never told, and lost, beneath the victors,
do their ships ever sail? As ships,
can she wander, can she explore or even tell her tale?
For if women have lost the battle of the story, their perspective of the coin;

Have inadvertently gambled away their voice,

Who is left to tell the stories that need to be told?
Who will listen, after hearing the phrase you are not meant to be heard.
And that even years later, long,
enough for that coin to turn blue, be told still;

Yes we shall hear you, but
We shall not believe you.
