Palestine 1948
Between the bombing during the war, Khan barely made it out of his country alive. He was found between rubble, hand were full of grime that he picked up on his search for a way out. He was on a mission for peace after his mother died in his arms, protecting him from war. Her only request was for her son to run and never look back. His friend, Abdul, hurried him along so that they could escape before the Israelis made their way around for seconds. He was covered in his mother's blood, frozen in fear since hearing the gun shot.
7:53 p.m, he collected whatever was left of his things back home and planned his escape into Israel with Abdul after the Israelis took over their country.
Abdul created the diversion after being stopped at the border. The two young men didn't realize how heavily guarded Israel would be so only one of them would be able to make it over the border alive. All of Abdul's relatives were wiped out during the explosion, he had no family to go back to so he bravely decided to put his life at risk for a chance of a better future.
9:55 p.m, his friend was proclaimed dead. He grabbed his friend's backpack and hurdled it over his shoulder to smuggle it into the city. By 10:01 p.m, he successfully immigrated into the city of Beersheba without any form of identification or any money, and barely any clothes for warmth. Once he was in Israel territory, he knew he had to leave his life behind and take on a new identity. An identity that felt no remorse for his friend or his mother because he was told not to look back on anything or anyone.
