I can't breathe.

I cant breathe

I cant breathe

i cant BREATHE

I snap awake from my short slumber, gasping for air as though i hadn't been able to breathe just moments ago, however there seemed to be nothing wrong with me, nor were my airways blocked in any way shape or form. It was.... Strange.

I get up from my bed and rub my chest, trying to make sense of why i had had such a hard time breathing, only to just write it off as some sort of psychological shit I didn't understand.

My room was small, a small room for a small girl I suppose. I had a twin sized mattress with no frame laid on the cold hard wood floor, covered with a tattered blanket and a few pillows, along with a thick comforter that was clearly old and used, but it still got the job done.

On the other side of my room was an air conditioner, also old and used. However this one seemed to have stopped working sometime in the middle of the night, which would of course explain why I had such a hard time breathing. It was summer of course so it wasn't TOO shocking, but of course it was still a tad bit of a hassle to have to either fix it, or fix the car so I could go into town to buy a new AC all together...

I sigh, dragging myself out of bed to slowly shuffle to my window, still half asleep as I pull the old machinery out of my window so I could at least try and keep the room cool... Maybe there was an old fan somewhere in the shed..?

I set the old thing on the ground gently, however still managing to cut my index finger open as I did so.

 "Fuck-"

I quickly dart to the bathroom to try and stop the bleeding, almost forgetting to clean my wound before wrapping it up and everything.

After I had just barely gotten the blood to stop enough to not have to change the wrap within the next 5 minutes, I let out a exasperated sigh, leaning on my bathroom counter before slowly looking up at myself in the mirror.

I had short messy black hair, poofing out slightly though only really reaching a small bit past my ears in length. I was small, but not too small, 5ft4 with just enough meat on my bones to be consider healthy. My skin however was deathly pale, Be it my Irish heritage or the contrast between my deep black hair and white skin,I had no idea. As far as I know it most likely could be both.

other than that I had vibrant emerald green eyes and huge bags under them, along with extreme laugh lines, even though lately I hadn't really been laughing as much as I use to... I sigh, averting my eyes as I begin to return to my room, shutting the door behind me.

By the time I had finished that it was like a whole ass 10 minutes later, and I returned to my room to find it even more humid and suffocating than before.

Letting out an Irritated groan, i attempt to slam my window shut, but for some god awful reason it wont. Getting irritated I regain my grasp and use as much force as possible to slam it shut, barely managing to get it past whatever it was stuck on.

"Yes!" I yell out in triumph , however As I shut it a sickening crunch and squish could be heard from the space in between to two sides of the window, (it was the kind of window where to open it on side would slide in front of the other. Think of a sliding glass door but smaller.) Which immediatly caused me to cringe.

I hesitate to continue closing the window, and instead of continuing I decide to pull the entire thing apart. I needed to clean it anyway, and there was no way I could sleep at night knowing there was some giant ass dead bug in my window.. And from the crunching sound it very well could have been a stink bug or some shit... Though I had no idea how the fuck it managed to get in between there without squishing itself in the process...

I shake my head, telling myself not to think about it as I begin to detach the front window closest to me, almost finished unscrewing the nails when I saw a flash of a shadow out of the corner of my eye, causing me to drop my screw driver and jump, glancing around hurriedly.

"What the.." I furrow my deep black brows, running a hand through my hair as i grown. Everythings been way too off today.  ' After this,' I thought, 'I should take a trip to the city, maybe visit a family member..' I finished, thinking maybe I just needed more social interaction to get myself out of this funk I seemed to have woken into. Wait, did I even have any family in the area..?

Shrugging that thought off, I focus back onto the removal of the window. Until of course I hear a huge ass crash from my kitchen.

"What the fuck!?"

At this point I'm pretty ticked off. Feeling almost as though I was being toyed with, lead into some kind of trap as I dart for the kitchen, grabbing an army knife I keep in my room on the way. Sure it was unlikely that it was anything bigger than a raccoon, but even then those little things could be nasty sometimes.

(This is all I got so far. Should I countinue it?)
