Winter break

"HEY, HEY, HEYY"

Bokuto screamed as Akaashi walked in, Akaashi nodded his head before taking off his jacket, it was winter and bokuto wanted the whole team to play one more game before they go on their winter breaks.

"Bokuto-San, only one game okay? I have to help my mom make dinner"

"Okay okay, just one game"

Akaashi and bokuto started bickering at each other when bokuto whispered maybe. But the team started throwing the ball making both Akaashi and Bokuto caught off guard.

"HEY DON'T START WITHOUT ME"

Bokuto whined and the team laughed, saying they are just practicing, bokuto and Akaashi goes and stand in their places.

"Your lucky Bokuto didn't go into emo mode"

Akaashi nudged one of the team members, as they laughed the ball struck at the team member face causing everyone to burst out laughing.

"ITS NOT FUNNY"

They screamed at the other team members on the other side of the net, rubbing his face they started playing their game, which caused One game to 5 games.

"Dammit I have to call my mom, give me a second"

"Hello?"

"Mom? Oh, hi yes I'm sorry I couldn't make it for dinn-"

"It's okay my boy, go play with your friends and make your young life fun"

"Mom.. are you sure? I can help and clean"

"No my dear it's okay, I have your aunties here with me"

Akaashi heard his mom chuckle after, hearing 2.. no 3 aunties yelling. Are they drinking akaashi wondered.

"Mom be safe, I love you"

"I love you too my boy"

Akaashi heard the phone hang up and felt like something was off, but akaashi shrugged it off and played more games. 3 hours later akaashi checks his phone only to find out the worst news he had heard in his life so far.

"Akaashi darling.. your mother uh.."

"My mom? Yes, what about her? Does she need help with anything? Laundry, dishes, cooking?"

"No, sweetie your mom is in the hospital"

Akaashi knees started trembling, his heart hurting and he wasn't able to control his breathing. He felt stuck, like he couldn't move and the room was getting darker and smaller. But he felt a hand on his shoulder causing him to come back to reality, tears fell down his face, why is his mom in the hospital?? The sweet loving single mother that watched akaashi grow up, the person who fed him, bought clothes for him, the person who was always their number one, why did he have to lose his mother?

"I'm coming to the Hospital, please wait for me. Tell my mom that I love her when she wakes up please"

"Akaashi where are you going?"

"Please not now Bokuto, my mom is in the hospital I have to go"

Akaashi threw his jacket on slipping his sweat on after, running and calling a taxi. Leaving the whole team confused and speechless. || Akaashi made it to the hospital running in asking the nurse where his mother was, but by the time he got in, he heard his mom,

"Please tell my boy I love him, keeping and watching him made my days better and happier-"

"Mom!"

"Akaashi my sweet boy"

Akaashi heart hurt seeing the warm smile his mother wore, he hugged her tightly, too scared to let her go.

"Thank you for everything mom, for being a single mother and keeping her child safe, to always be there for me through my toughest time, thank you for everything I love you so much, please don't go I can't.. I can't lose you"

Akaashi mother caressed her son face and hair, hugging him back, both of them with tears in their eyes too scared to let each other go not knowing what would happen next.

"You know I always loved you and will forever, but I'm afraid you will have to let me go, thank you for not giving your mother a hard time, I am so sorry I can't see you graduate, I'm sorry I can't see you succeed your dreams, but just know, I will always be with you, I love you too, but my time has come my dear"

Akaashi not being able to see with the tears in his eyes, hearing his mother's words and nodding his head, words breaking apart since his crying stopped him from talking, and then hearing his mother draw her last breath.

His mother last words being, "I love you, you love me".
