Hussein looked down at his phone, he had recently gotten into a few heated arguments with his friends. Every time they went to see each other they would always part ways an hour or two early. It was all because one of his friends, Altan, couldn't control himself. He would start randomly speaking about Hussein when they were out together when silence surrounded them, he always had to break it by making fun of Hussein. "Did you know Hussein used to..." That sentence echoed in Hussein's head, it hurt him. It made his headache, it made him want to rip out his hair because maybe then he wouldn't have to hear a word from Altan. If he cut off his ears like Van Gogh, he wouldn't be able to hear him anymore, if he ended it all everything would stop too. His heart kept on pounding, it felt like he was running away from someone trying to attack him but this time the person attacking him is himself. He's the one attacking himself, the thoughts kept raging in and scraping against the sides of his head because they didn't want him to forget what he did... but what did he really do?

His thoughts became worse as Hussein blankly stared at his phone. His thoughts only cleared when a loud buzzing intruded his loud and troublesome thoughts. He brought the phone to his ear, the coldness of the phone making him lean into it as if someone was cupping his cheek.

"Hello?" He called out; he had clicked the green circle to confirm his choice that he wanted to answer the call.

"Hey Hussein, it's me Maarzook. Do you want to go out today? Just the two of us though of course, I know you wouldn't want Julia here so we can go at a time she's not available. Like... In thirty minutes? Also, you can't say no because I'll go Enfield and drag you out of your house if you say no." Maarzook was as cheerful as ever with Hussein, he always treated the latter with respect whenever he could tell he was visibly upset. He always cheered him up whenever he needed it.

Hussein sighed, pulling the phone away from his face to check the time on the clock behind his bed. He nodded before quickly realising Maarzook couldn't actually see him face-to-face currently. "Yeah, sure. At that coffee place near the station?" Hussein smiled, he couldn't wait to meet Maarzook again, he was one of the people in his life that actually cared about him. He couldn't say no to such a pleasant offer.

"I'll meet you there then!" Maarzook's voice was booming with excitement before a short buzz met his ears again. He felt so much better knowing that he'll finally go and speak with someone who actually cares about him, someone who would never talk badly about him and always defended him when he got into fights with Altan. That's why he saw Maarzook as his best friend.
