I was in a room. I couldn’t see around me. The room wasn’t dark, nor was it light. There was just, nothing. Then a voice. It didn’t have a specific tone, masculine or feminine. All I knew is that it was powerful. There was something warm, even comforting, about it. It was spoken in some sort of ancient language. Somehow, I knew what it was saying. There weren't any specific words, just feelings, sensations.
It wanted me to do something. I looked around, to see if there was anything there. There was a door. There wasn’t anything special about the appearance. It was just a normal door. But something was pulling me towards it. A humming started in my ears.
“What do you want from me?” I asked no one in particular.
The humming just got louder. It was the only thing that consumed my mind. I walked towards the door, but the closer I got, the farther out of reach the door was. I started running, reaching out with my arms as far as I could, but no matter what I tried, it got farther and farther away. The humming got louder, until it started forming real words.
“Come. Join us,” it said.
“Who are you?” I said frantically.
“We are you, only you haven’t met us yet. We are you from the future, the past, but you are the only you from the present,” they said. I now realised why there was the humming noise. The aura from all of the spirits were welding together. The power was incredible.
“We will see you soon, but we must leave now. Try to remember who you are. Remember who you are…” The voice trailed off into nothingness, and the humming stopped. Everything went dark, and then I woke up.

I shot up on my bunk, my heading hitting the low rafters of the roof, but I barely felt it. My breathing was heavy, and my heart wouldn’t stop pounding. No way that was real, I thought to myself. There was no way that just happened, it was a dream. Everything was just a dream. Dreams are imaginary. But it felt so real! I could still hear the voices in my head, “Remember who you are…” What does that mean? Did I forget who I am? No, that’s not possible. I- My thoughts were cut short by a cry coming from downstairs. “Miss Hinsworth!” a shrill voice pierced my ears, “Come downstairs this instant!”
That was Miss Gwenevieve. She is the caretaker of the orphanage that I live at. It would actually be quite a pleasant place to live if it weren’t for the circumstances. “Coming Ma’am!” I called back. I knew that Miss was not someone that you wanted to keep waiting. I jumped off of my bunk, and hurried downstairs to the main entrance. There was Miss Qwenevieve and a strange woman wearing a long, dark green cloak. She was a tall woman, very elegant too. Her hair, almost completely grey, was pulled back in a neat bun on the back of her head. What do I have to do with this woman?
“Hello. I take it that you are Rebecca Hinsworth?” the woman asked politely, extending her hand. She had a distinct accent, though I couldn’t place where it was from. “Yes, that’s me,” I replied, still weary of the woman. I took her hand in mine and shook. She had a firm grip, but not too firm. Her hands were nothing like Miss Gwenevieve’s. Miss Gwenevieve’s hands were skeleton like and seemed frail, but they had a grip of absolute steel. I would know, because I had been dragged around by her more times than I could count.
“I am Professor McGonagall. The owls were having trouble finding you, all the way out here, so I came to deliver this myself.” She pulled an envelope out of her pocket. It was cream colored, with a red seal. I pulled it open and took the letter out of it. As I started reading, my eyebrows shot up in alarm at the contents.
