On a dreadful night in 1981, the dark wizard Tom Riddle managed to set a curse upon the direct descendant of Godric Gryffindor - Kirsten. The same night he was caught and sent to Azkaban, but the parents of Kirsten never knew of the curse bestowed upon their baby girl.

Pit pat. Pit pat. Pit pat.

The rain fell gently onto the window, making a soothing sound for the one year old girl to fall asleep to.

Even as a young child, she was an easily recognizable face in the crowd. Her milk bottle white face was crowned with copper red curls and her eyes were a deep blue. Her thick lashes complimented her sun kissed, freckled face.

But as she lay defenseless, a dark figure shuffled around outside.

He looked up at her bedroom window. His straight black hair plastered on his forehead by the rain, he seemed like an ordinary passerby gazing at the exquisite architecture. But he was anything but a normal passerby.

He gripped his wand and it was revealed that he wasn't marveling at the house or even the window. He wanted to get inside.

He had to get inside.

His name was Tom Riddle, and he had business to attend to.

He wanted - no, needed - to get back at the couple who had wronged him. Alas, at the moment Lily and James Potter weren't in his line of sight. But their close friends were good enough. Besides...what did he have to lose?

He walked past the mailbox with the last name Gryffindor etched into the wood. This was definitely the right place.

Tom tried unlocking the door, but it proved futile. No matter. He backed up and after a slight triangular flick of his hand whispered, "Bombarda".

In an instant the door flew off its hinges, alerting the child upstairs. The blond haired, blue eyed boy was only six years old, but his sleep was very light. He pressed his ear against the door and listened.

The cloaked figure moved through the house, trying to find the young child. His plan was falling into place, and who better to kill for his final horcrux than a direct descendent of Gryffindor himself...especially since he'd be storing it in the sword.

Well, it wasn't the child he was planning to kill. It was her parents. He wanted her for an entirely different reason.

He wanted to make her grow to be like him. She would be the last person to be thought of as a spy. As a follower. She would come to his aid when he needed it most...it was perfect.

The young child slowly opened his bedroom door just in time to see the cloaked figure enter his sister's room. In a panic he quietly ran downstairs, where he knew he could contact the people he needed to.

The cloaked figure closed the door behind him and gazed upon the sleeping child. He removed his hood revealing to anyone present that he was in fact the infamous dark wizard Tom Riddle. Unfortunately, there was no one else in the room.

He pulled out his wand, ready to cast the curse he'd been perfecting since his second year. Even though he knew the motions by heart, he went through them one more time just to be 110% sure. Unfortunately, that was his fatal flaw.

He flicked his hand not once, not twice, but three times before pointing the want at her chest and whispering  "Puer Anguis".

A bright green light shot out of the tip and hit her square in the chest.

But something was wrong.

He didn't see it at the time, but every time he'd worked on the curse beforehand the light was a dim, deep green. Not a bright neon. However, Tom just shrugged it off to lighting.

He watched as a thin strand of hair faded into silver, and smiled to himself. He turned to leave when the door flew open.

Tom turned to the door and immediately thrusted out his wand and began shouting.

"Avada Ke-"

"Expelliarmus!

Before he could finish the curse his wand went flying. The holly wand was quickly caught by a tall man with dark hair almost matching that of Tom Riddle. The man promptly snapped the wand in half and pocketed it.

The dark wizard was taken aback. He was too distracted...had he been paying attention he would've had an extra second.

One of the men was taller than the first, and placed his hand on the other's shoulder. In all there were two men and a woman, with both the parents and the young Gryffindor child in the hallway.

Before Tom could even make a move the woman stepped forward, shouting the full body bind curse and he fell to the ground.

"Sirius," the taller man whispered. "Nymphadora and I have it from here. You go inform James and Lily on the predicament."

The shorter man, Sirius Black, nodded and handed Riddle's wand over to the taller man, Remus Lupin. The young child looked up at him as he left.

"Is she going to be okay?" he asked. Sirius smiled and kneeled down next to him.

"You don't have anything to worry about," he assured him. "What you did back there was very brave. A true Gryffindor if I've ever seen one." He laughed then gave the young boy a hug.

The two remaining Auror's stepped forward and commenced the arrest and eventual life sentencing of Tom Riddle.

Unnamed, Unregistered Curse - Nicknamed the Riddle Curse

This specific curse is only usable on young children who haven't developed a personality yet. When done correctly it will make them apathetic to everyone and everything but the user. Their hair and eyes will turn a silver similar to that of the Slytherin Crest. No more is currently known about it, and the effects of being used incorrectly is unknown
