The Concealed World; book one

Prolouge

Sparrow waited patiently on the highest ledge. She was in the meeting cave, an area off the beaten track for royals to call meetings. She had called one today, for a very important reason. She had a vision the night before. As dragons the size of a bus flew into the room and took the place on their ledge, she remembered the prophecy that the dragons before her time had given in her dream.

Beware the dragon of dark skies
Beware the dragon of bright red eyes
Fire will come to claim the queen
A parasite has been unseen
Blood will stain the water
Smoke will cover the skies
If something is not done, every dragon will die.

The words still haunted her mind. She sighed, wondering what it all meant. There was no 'dragon of bright red eyes' recorded in history. The only time that happened was.. no, she couldn't dare think of that. She only hoped that it all could be prevented, hence why she called the meetup. She waited for the last red tinted dragon prince to enter before calling the meeting the order.

" I assume you all don't know why I called this meeting to order. "

She paused

" I have received a prophecy from the dragons before us. "

Shocked and terrified faces covered the dragons expressions, though hers was grim and filled with sorrow. The last time there was a prophecy a flood had wiped out a whole kingdom, and half the royal heirs inside. 'The poor coastal guardians..' she thought, but let that thought slip away quickly. She had more important things to worry about.
The dragon queen looked around the large cavern, before starting to say the rest of what she needed to.

" beware the dragon of dark skies. Beware the dragon of bright red eyes. Fire will come to claim the queen. A parasite has been unseen. Blood will stain the water. Smoke will cover the skies. If something is not done, ever dragon will die. "

A small green tinted dragon perked up, he looked to be around ten years of age. He looked at the queen with determination in his eyes and started

" my queen, has there ever been a dragon with bright red eyes in history? If so, maybe there will be another? We could control that dragon to have them fight off.. "

The dragon paused with a shaky sigh.

" ..you know who. "

A much bigger dragon with a dark blue tint she guessed was his mother, gave him a small slap on the snout with the back of her talons. The little green dragon let out a quiet yelp from the action

" Kelp! Do not speak to the queen without permission. "

The dragon to be presumed as Kelp, nodded and rubbed his snout silently.

" Shark, it's ok. Let the boy talk. His idea might just work. "
If they could get the fabled dragon of bright red eyes to fight for them, the most of the prophecy could be prevented. The dragon of dark skies, could be prevented. Now all they had to do is wait.

" I am setting an order. Any dragon that has bright red eyes is to be brought to me immediately. Anyone who does not report a sighting will be punished. "

She waved the dragons away as they left, she needed to be alone. She needed this dragon of bright red eyes. She needed to save her kingdom. And that dragon was going to help her do it.
