Jason carried Kate into the ER, his eyes locked on hers the entire time. Setting her down in a waiting chair Jason walked up to the receptionist and signed Kate in. Kate's heart began to race as Jason took a seat next to her, his hand on her knee.

"Jay," Kate said, sighing as she placed her hand on top of his. "there is honestly nothing in this world that I want more than to be with you," Kate began motioning between them with her free hand, "but what about Macie and Kyler?" Her question was expected, and Jason nodded slowly.

"Well," The word rested lightly on her face as he leaned in closer, "We explain to them what happened." Kate began violently shaking her head, the idea of the confrontation sending her into a panic attack.

"No. We can't" Her voice was direct and to the point. "I say we just go to the formal as planned but let them know what we are together. . ." Hesitantly she added "We are together, right?"

Jason laughed as he turned her face towards his and leaned in closer. Their lips were not quite touching when he said "Yes, Katelynn, we are together. What else would this be?" Slowly Jason touched his lips to hers, and then he pulled away. "But I think that your idea is great. Sounds good. But I-"

Kate cut him off as she said "I'm not telling Macie. I'll tell Kyler." Leaning in, she placed her forehead to his, amazed at how quickly they became couple like.

"That's what I was going to say," Jason said kissing her lightly on the cheek "maybe if you would let me finish my sentence, I could tell you that." Playfully, he tousled Kate's hair, his eyes focusing on hers.

"Oh, hush!" Kate exclaimed, nudging him on the shoulder.

Suddenly, Jason remembered why they were here. "How is uh. . . your ankle?" He asked, his voice holding much concern.

"It's okay." Kate replied nonchalantly, as she looked down at her swollen ankle. "It's just so swollen, that it is pushing away the edges of my shoe, and I get a shock wave of pain every five minutes, but it's okay." She laughed, trying hard not to cry as pain rippled through her leg.

"Let me take off your shoe." Jason knelt down to the ground, and slowly started untying her right shoe.

"Ouch!" Kate yelped, her eyes filling with tears. "Be gentle."

"I'm trying baby, I'm sorry I hurt you." Jason's term of endearment sent Kate's heart fluttering with joy.

"Thanks, Jay." Kate said, smiling through the pain as Jason took of her shoe, and proceeded to take off her brightly colored sock. "You're amazing." Jason smiled up at Kate, his eyes making her forget where they were.

"Katelynn Row?" Kate jumped at the sound of her name as a doctor came towards her, a wheelchair in tow. "You can't go in." The doctor said, motioning towards Jason.

"Go home, Jay, I'll call my mom. Thanks for waiting with me." Kate said, as Jason shook his head.

"Nope. I'll be right here waiting for when you need me. I love you." Jason beamed, his eyes holding all of the weight of that statement.

"I love you, too." Kate smiled, touching Jason's hand as the doctor wheeled her away.
