little brook

You were my playground
You were my playmate
You were my constant companion
You opened your sandy shores to me
So i can dip my small feet and be refreshed
You let me picked flowers littered on your bank beds
To make my old gramere happy
You let me watched colorful small fishes swimming
Oh my little brook, you teemed with life.
Several years passed, too many changing of seasons happened
I became so busy with my life
I forgot to check my own little paradise
When I visited you the last time
You were nowhere to be found
What used to be my gurgling and murmuring brook
Are human settlement and commerce
Destroying a piece of my childhood
By commerce and human greed
Tainted and destroyed.
I dont have a picture of you
But you're etched in my brain, my heart and my soul.
I havent said my proper farewell to you
It is hard to let go of something beautiful and innocent
Like a part of oneself
Maybe someday I will
When I am brave and healed
I will never forget you
You are me.
