Amidst the chaos of the battle, my ex-lover's words echoed through the corridors, revealing the painful truth of our circumstances. As he relentlessly attacked me, I defended myself, realizing that our paths and allegiances had ultimately led us down this treacherous path.
"Maybe if we were born in two different families we wouldn't have to hide," said my ex-lover as I'm running down the corridors trying to hide and stay safe from the battle.
He tried to hex me running toward me, it was as if he was showing his true self to me, as if all of the promises he made to me were all a lie,
He tried to kill me once again as I'm taking cover from his curses, he was a death eater, he was just trying to get me for the dark lord to kill me.
"Maybe if I wouldn't arrive in Slytherin then you wouldn't have known who I was" I replied defending myself from one of the curses he kept throwing at me.
Earlier in the year.
As I make my way back to my dorm, exhausted from a grueling week of classes and an overwhelming workload, the reality of transitioning from the fifth year to the sixth year at Hogwarts, where we must guide and prepare the next generation of wizards and witches for the adult world, feels both daunting and surreal.
One of this year's projects was pairing the sixth and fifth years together to prepare them for going into next year's chaos, making them feel like adult life is not as hard as it looked, it was always with one of your house members. it was more of shadowing them.
As Astoria, Pansy, and I walked into our dorm, Astoria expressed her disbelief at being paired with Malfoy. "I still cannot believe you got paired with Malfoy," she mentioned, her tone filled with a mixture of surprise and concern. It seemed that Malfoy had a reputation for being unreliable in previous collaborative projects. Astoria shared a cautionary tale from the previous year, where a sixth-year student had ended up doing all the work because Malfoy was consistently absent, presumably out partying.
Pansy, joining the conversation, added her thoughts while tossing her belongings onto the floor. "Good luck! I heard last year's sixth-year had to do all the work because he was out partying all the time during the project." Her tone conveyed a mix of amusement and exasperation.
Commenting on Pansy's untidiness, I jokingly remarked, "Nice, now you've made a mess, and I just cleaned our room yesterday." I settled on my desk, pulling out the homework we had been assigned for the week.
Astoria and Pansy were my best friends since my second year when we started having classes together. Although they were two years older than me, we had made a promise to stick with each other until the very end of the school year. The realization that they would be graduating and leaving school this year felt a bit overwhelming.
"At least I didn't get paired with Potter" I added.
My lighthearted comment about not being paired with Potter showcased my relief at avoiding the same situation as Astoria. Pansy and I found it somewhat amusing, but Astoria's reaction revealed her deep frustration with the situation.
Astoria's anger stemmed from Harry's prejudice and unfair generalizations about Slytherins. She felt unfairly judged and resented the fact that she had to collaborate with someone who held such biased views.
"At least Malfoy getting an easy A" Pansy added while getting more closer to Astoria, mocking her and laughing.
"Lex, can you actually stop being a nerd and just start getting ready for your date with Ron" Astoria added annoyed at the fact that I just kept doing the work instead of getting ready, obviously ignoring Pansy's comment.
