CHAPTER 25

jj sent kiara a confused look to which she just followed him, he then turned to ren who smiled sadly,

"uh pope told kiara he loved her and she didn't say it back, so he's bummed obviously." ren said following kiara outside,

when they walked out they saw pope revving the engine as kiara tried to talk, before riding away.

kiara started walking back to jj and ren when they heard helicopter noises, which made them look up, seeing a helicopter fly past them,

"who the hell is that?" jj asked,

but nobody knew.

they went inside to stock up on food since they couldn't stay in the wreck and they needed to get food for john b and sarah.

"you sure he wasn't just being weird pope?" jj asked her,

"it wasn't really the kind of thing that needed interpretation." she replied,

ren looked at the food and questioned the amount, "is that gonna be enough food for them?" she asked,

"i mean for a couple of weeks, and that's all they need, so..." jj trailed off.

"look, i think i actually hurt his feelings," kiara worried,

"look, don't beat yourself up too much. he's completely changed his feels." jj pointed out,

"yeah ever since you gave him drugs," ren flipped jj's hat off his head making it fall onto the ground.

"anyway, the past twenty four hours have been like jekyll and hyde," he added.

"i hate to admit it, but i miss the old pope," kiara said, "at least i knew what to expect from him,"

as they turned around the corner of the car kiara came face to face with her mother,

"where you been?" her mother asked,

"uh - i'm fine. i slept here." kiara said,

jj and ren were bringing the stuff to the car as they went back and forth, kiara, her mother and father continued arguing.

"alright what the hell is up with you three?" she asked jj and ren walking out of the wreck,

"listen, i'm sorry miss anna, but we gotta go," ren said getting in the back seat as jj got in the front passenger.

"no i'm sorry absolutely not!" she yelled at kiara,

"i'm sorry mom!"

"have you heard what's going on?" her mother asked,

"mom! i'll explain later," kiara said getting in the car,

"have you seen the storm coming?" her mother asked again.

"i'm sorry, mom. i have to go!" kiara yelled,

"this is not safe!"

"these cops are armed. kiara!" her mother warned her, "you'll get shot!"
