Rex wakes up, his alarm blurting out noises until he hits the snooze button. He sits up slowly and looks down at his old, stained mattress with no sheet. He sighs before getting up letting his feet hit the floor of his old, creaking house as he walks to the bathroom.

With each step taken, comes a stomach ache of anxiety knowing if his dad or brother wakes up he'd be dead. Once Rex reaches the bathroom he turns on the water and lets it run into a cup, starting to brush his teeth, dreading the day ahead.

(Rex's Point Of View)

Once I'm at school, I step off the bus slowly as kids barrel behind me desprate to get into the building to see their friends, something I didn't have to do because I didn't have any. Just the occasional conversation with someone next to me. No actual friendship.

I drag myself into the clean building which smelt of sweaty kids coming out of the gym and girls constantly spraying their perfume, which was fucking annoying. I start up the stairs, hearing Jason, the rich kid, with his group of friends talking about god knows what.

Once up the stairs I hear running behind me causing me to jump and look back, only to see Jason looking rushed. "Yo did you get answers to anything in math?" He asks, sweat dripping off of his forehead and onto the floor making me roll my eyes and mumble a small "No."

Jason played football, and to be quite honest, watching him play was slightly attractive. I never took a liking to the boy though, because he's just like every other snobby kid.

He makes a face as I mumble, rolling his eyes in a mocking way. "Whatever," He says in a bitchy tone before I start to walk faster eventually ending up in class.

I take my seat in the front, Jason and one of his friends walking in and taking their seats in the back. The teacher wasn't in yet so I just waited patiently. Seconds later I hear Jason and his friend laughing before feeling something hit the back of my head.

I feel my flush face red with embarrassment, picking up the pencil that had been thrown and just the second I threw it I heard the teacher walk in. "Rex!" He yells making me flinch, my face turning a darker red.

"J-Jason threw it first!" I say loudly watching the teachers eyes avert to him. "Detention, both of you. Come see me at the end of school." He says and drops the topic, my mouth hanging open as I sit down hearing Jason groan.

"Cmon that's not fair I was joking around! God fuck you Max." He mumbled under his breath but I could still hear. Everyone let's put breathy giggles before starting on their bell work, leaving me embarassed and angry.
