Adriana had woken up to yet another slam of the front door as her parents headed off to the work at the Ministry of Magic.  She looked over at her alarm and saw that it was only 6am.

With a sigh, she removed her covers and swung her legs over the edge of her bed.  Goosebumps arose upon her skin as she shivered; she had left her window open the night before.

Stifling a yawn, she got up and shut her window.  There was no point in going back to bed as she was already wide awake.  She opened her door and tredged her way down the stairs.  Many memories were held in these staircases.

Like when she was 8 and had been so excited for her brother's arrival home from Howwarts that she wasn't paying attention and fell down the stairs, resulting in her breaking her arm.  Or all the photoshoots her and her family had for Christmas cards.  Things weren't like they used to be.  Her parents were never the same after their first born son had died: Abel.

The same brother she had broken her arm for. Abel was a wizard like none had ever seen before.  He had a brilliant mind and a charming personality.  Everyone who met him fell in love with him instantly.  He aced every test, got every girl, and was friends with everyone.  Until one day, he just wasn't.

He had this one friend, Oscar Goyle, who he spent all his time with.  They had gone to a party one night, and both drank too much fire whiskey.  Abel thought it would be a good idea to drive them home, and you can guess what happened.  Abel and Oscar never got to grow up, never got to pass the age of 17.

It was a terrible loss for her family, and in the end was their downfall.  Adriana's parents had throw themselves into their work, not having time for their 2 other grieving children.  Asher was all Adriana had the last few years.  Both consumed by the grief of their brother's passing and neglectful parents, they gave each other light in the darkness.

Asher was Adriana's twin brother, and was by far the most good looking in her family.  He had peircing blue eyes, black, curly shoulder-length hair, tanned brown skin, and a tall lean body.

Adriana looked quite different from her twin brother with the same brown tanned skin but with brown eyes mixed with a little green, long dark brown hair that was almost black, and she was only 5'3".

Abel was kindhearted, but not many got to see that with the persona he put on.  He never wanted to let anyone see him with his walls down other than Adriana.  Adriana blames that on her parents, but mostly blames it on the people he surrounds himself with at Howgarts.  Particularly Draco Malfoy.

Adriana had never cared for the boy.  In fact, she kind of despised him.  He had never liked Adriana, but he knew not to mess with her due to the fact that she was his best friend's sister.  That didn't stop him from treating her as a burden everytime he was around her.  She hated feeling like that, especially because that's how her own parents treated her.

Getting rather sad with the thoughts protruding her mind, she continued walking down the stairs and into the kitchen.  She hadn't realized how hungry she was until she opened her fridge to try to figure out what to make for breakfast.  She had decided on french toast as that was her favorite.  She pulled out the ingredients she needed and got to cooking.

Once done, she set the table for her and Asher, and went to wake him up.  She made her way back up the stairs, pushing away any other memories or unwanted feelings that might sneak up on her.

She knocked on Asher's door and pressed her ear against it.  She could hear his loud snores and rolled her eyes with a smile on her face.  Of course Asher wasn't up.  That boy could sleep whole days away if you let him.  She quitely opened the door and tiptoed to her brother.  Without another thought she jumped on her brother to wake him up.  He groaned as she landed on him and pulled the covers over his head.  Adriana laughed.

"C'mon Asher wake up. I made breakfast."

As soon as the word breakfast passed her lips, Asher jumped out of his bed and made his way to the kitchen.  Adriana laughed once more and started making Asher's bed.  She knew for sure he wouldn't do it, but she didn't mind making it.

In fact, it was quite the opposite.  Adriana loved taking care of other people.  It made her feel needed, and she craved that from others.  After she finished making his bed, she also made her way to the kitchen.

She sat at the table and starting eating her french toast.  Her and Asher ate in silence, just enjoying each other's company.  That was until Asher decided to speak.

"So Addy, Draco and I are heading to Diaogn Alley if you want to come."

Oh shit Adriana thought to herself.  She had completely forgotten she needed to get supplies for her 6th year at Hogwarts.  Not that it was problem of course.  She had plenty of money to buy the things she needed.  In fact, her family had enough money to buy every student at Hogwarts supplies.  Her main problem at the moment was that Draco was coming.  She hated that Draco was part of their group. The group consisting of her, Ash, Draco, and her best friend, Daphne Greengrass.

"Is Daphne coming?." She asked.

"Yes, so you have to come." Ashe said, knowing that she would if they all hung out as a group. He didn't understand why Addy didn't like Draco. He thought he was a good guy who just made bad decisions sometimes.

"Ready to go?" Asher asked his sister. She nodded, and with that they were on their way.
