my cab pulled over to the sidewalk and let me out in a bit of a rush. I don't blame him, it was Friday night in NYC so he would be getting millions of customers tonight.
I left a tip on the centre console and stepped out. It has rained all afternoon so the sidewalk was still wet, but there were no raindrops.
I hurried to the apartment complex and was immediately buzzed in.
fancy.
I gave a small head nod to the front desk employee and heading straight to the elevators.
the ride up was painfully long. my stomach was littered with butterflies. I felt as though I might throw up.
On cue, my phone lit up with a message from my best friend:
don't be scared, you're a bad bish
walk in there and show yourself OFF
but most importantly
get your $$$$
that made me chuckle. I put my phone away just in time for the doors to open.
I walked down the familiar hall until I came to room 314. I took a few deep breaths and then knocked on the door.
"Hi Lily, how are you?"
"I'm doing well. Thank you."
"Would you like to come in?" He asked opening the door further.
I smiled and entered the beautiful apartment.
He took my coat and I kicked off my shoes.
"So..how would you like to do this?" He asked looking nervous too.
"Heh..well...why don't we start with an interview." I smiled sitting on his couch.
"An..interview?" He laughed pouring two glasses of wine.
"Yes Jimmy, an interview. You of all people should know what that is." I smiled at him. Happily accepting the wine.
"Well alright..what do you want to know?" He said sitting next to me.
"For starters..how much are you willing to pay me?" I said smirking into the glass of wine.

after I texted my friend, Lily, some words of encouragement I put my phone away and opened up my newest file.
After doing a few hours of work I put my stuff away and sat myself on the couch and put on some movie about a British dude and his friend/girlfriend..possible victim? I think her name was Tessa? To be honest I was only half paying attention when my phone went off blaring.
I rushed to grab it and answer with an out of breath hello.
"Frankie?" I hear on the other end.
It's Lily.
"Hey! What's up? How did it go?" I asked.
"Can you buzz me in? I'm almost home, but I forgot my key."
A few moments later I hear my friend come in the door.
She walked in and immediately placed everything on the floor and slumped into our couch.
"That bad hey?" I asked her.
"Actually," she looked up and smiled at me," it went extremely well."
She then tossed me an envelope that had a significant amount of weight inside. I knew exactly what, or really, how much she received.
"WHAT!" I screamed jumping over the couch and landing next to her. "Tell me EVERYTHING."
