It was the last day of summer break, Paige and Mel sent out their invites for their end of summer pool party whilst the rest of their friends were setting it up. They had the best summer ever, they went on trips to the Bahamas, skiing, hiking, partying and a whole lot more. Paige had been staying with her step dad after her mum disappeared, she had a small room in the south corner of his house looking onto the road outside. She didn't have much in the room at the beginning of the year just white walls and a black duvet but during the holidays she started to make a scrapbook and painted her room purple and blue. Her step dad used to love her a lot but after the disappearance of his fiancé (Paige's' mum) he has spoken Few words to her. Mel and Paige have been best friends since pre-school and have only ever fighter twice, once over a fictional character (that only lasted a week) and the other over a broken ruler in primary school (that also only lasted a week). These arguments were petty and looking back on them now we just laugh. They have never kept a secrets from each other, that was until the last week of summer...
