Suddenly, her hug stopped being comforting.
Dad's thrown beer stained the wall.
He wasn't supposed to make noise.
The dusty shelf held only memories.
Her lovely smile held harsh threats.
The universe beckoned for me again.
I couldn't let go of her-
I made mom and dad stop.
"Who's there?" "You don't recognize me?"
The silence swallowed my pitiful cries.
I took her hand to keep.
The pills were supposed to help.
Exhausted soldiers marched. Their bullies ran.
I glanced at my phone, again.
Happy kids went. Emotionless adults came.
The color red looked so beautiful.
Pearl pins. Poisoned ends. Dead men.
I couldn't focus. Where was I?
My birthday faded into forgotten memories.
"Why did you drag me here?"
Glitter danced on her long lashes.
"What happened?" "Well...you left me."
Stained floor. Broken pipes. Ruined dress.
The club music vibrated the building.
Her death would never stop me.
"Where am I?" "In Hell, kid."
The ballet dancer looked, then jumped.
"What's your age?" "I'm immortal, ma'am."
My hand only met the air.
The spider crawled in the barn.
She was forced into her life.
The wolf cowered from the man.
I hate it, when he yells.
"I'm dead?" "You did it yourself."
