Eden waits nervously at a nearby book shop for his date, a male about his age but a small bit shorter. He fixes up his darkened pink hair and thinks to himself 'I need to re-dye this soon.' As he's fixing himself up, his date arrives. Nico, walking up to him with a smile, waves happily.
"Hey babe! Sorry I kept you waiting, I got caught up with a few things."
The bright smile makes Eden blush as he nods "It's alright, don't worry about it" He smiles
Nico smiled back as the two head inside, finally able to relax together after a stressful week. This was an activity the couple usually did together on Saturdays when neither had to work, just going to a bookstore and marveling at the books they know they don't need, despite having many to finish at home. Eden walks over to the manga section, Nico following behind.
"What manga are you looking for this time?"
"Oh, uhm 'My hero academia' actually, number 20."
"You already finished 19? Or did you just look at the pictures." he chuckles teasingly
"I read it! I'm a fast reader!" Eden laughs a bit
Nico smiles and helps him find what he's looking for, but gets distracted with another book from the section next to them, a horror novel. Eden chuckles softly and goes over to him, leaning on his shoulder and looking over the book with him.
"Another scary one huh?"
"This one is mainly about witches though! With the names of the crystals, what they do, how to contact spirits.." he started to get lost in his own train of thought and trailed off his sentence. Eden smiled, kissed his cheek gently, then went back to looking for his own reading choice.
The couple look over many different books and novels, following each other around to different sections and laughing at a few silly titles, all while being quiet enough to not disturb the peace of the lovely place. After a little while, they decide to get coffee at the Starbucks attached to the store. Eden orders his usual, a black coffee with raspberry syrup and a bit of chocolate. Nico orders a caramel macchiato and stands next to Eden as they wait for their drinks. He leans on his slightly taller boyfriend and smiles
"I wanna try your drink."
"You do?"
"Yeah! You always order it when we come here, so I wanna see if I'll like it."
"Alright, you probably won't though." he chuckles "You never know!"
"Could I try yours then?"
"Mhm!" He smiles
"Think I'll like it?"
"Maybe, I don't know" he looks when the drinks are set out, taking his own and handing Eden his.
"Thank you" he smiles softly
"Of course!" Nico smiles back and heads to sit down at a table, Eden following.
They sit down and talk for a bit about random things really, as Eden hands Nico his drink.
"Here, try it love."
Nico smiles and slowly sips some, only to set it down quickly, making Eden laugh. He hands Eden his drink back and makes a sort of disgusted face.
"It's so bitter!"
"I knew you wouldn't like it!" He laughs
"How do you even drink that?"
"I dunno, it tastes pretty good to me." He drinks some and smiles.
Nico hands him his own drink as Eden drinks a bit, then hands it back "That's..really sweet. You're drinking pure sugar!"
"At least I'm not drinking the most bitter thing in the world!"
The two laugh and smile happily, drinking their own drinks through conversations drifting from one topic to another. Before they know it, the bright blue sky outside slowly turned darker, late afternoon on the rise.
Eden smiled "Are we getting any books this time? Or is that next time?"
Nico thought, "How about next time, it's getting a bit late and the store is closing soon."
"Ah, right. We've been here a while." he chuckles softly.
They both stand, intertwining their hands as they walked out of the store.
Eden turns to Nico and smiles "I love you"
"I love you too"
They share a loving kiss as small stars began to scatter the sky.
