Chapter 17 [Snippets Only]

"Can you not go back? Tonight, let's just sleep here na."

I become silent, not accepting anything the patient ask until ai'Saifah presses his lips tightly together. His previous expression which full of hope now becomes gloomy until I feel guilty.

"You can't?" He asks me again.

"I can." I beam and ruffle the patient's head. "I would like to change my uniform for a while. Wearing the school uniform like this, it's uncomfortable."

"Okay." Saifah nods and finally decides to let me go, letting me to change my clothes.

His eyes didn't leave me for a beat as he's looking at each of my actions like he's scare that I would lie until much later, when I finish changing my clothes, he finally let out a relieved sigh instead.

And damn I really can't control myself for not laughing at this side of him. When I see it, I also feel it's kinda adorable. I never thought Saifah will own such a side of him as well.

I move to lie down next to him. One of my hand placed down on his cheek, letting my thumb to caress it gently as if I'm trying to soothe the person before me, be asleep.

"Zon."

"What?"

"The thing I mentioned yesterday, the thing about staying... by your side as a friend just like before... you will let me, right?"

"..."

"I don't know whether what I asked, is it too much, but I..."

"You can. You can stay already."

"Thank you na."

"Hmm. You should sleep na Saifah. Good night."

"You too."

The strong morning rays which seep through the doorway, wake me up, as well as the bathroom door being close sound which is loud enough to cause the sleepy me to wake up, sitting.

A sight of Saifah who is walking out of the bathroom could be seen, and it seems like he looks brighter than yesterday.

 "Are you feeling well already? Why are you showering like that?"

I'm not scolding him, but I'm just confused, did he really recovered already, since he took a bath and even wash his hair too.

"Yes, I'm feeling better."

"Well, that's good then." I bring my hands up and rub my eyes before I stretch myself back and forth.

"If you want to continue sleeping, you can na Zon. It's just nine in the morning, right now."

"It's fine. I have classes in the afternoon. I need to hurry to change my clothes. Yesterday, when fall asleep, I forgot about it."

"You can just wear mine na. There's no need for you to take a ride back and forth."

"It's better not. You're much bigger than me. If I wear yours, it might look hilarious. Later, ai'Jia will make fun of me again."

"If that the case, then you can just wear your previous uniform. Iron it a bit. No one would notice anyway. Later, I'll help to iron."

"It's fine. I think I want to go home. In case I feel lazy to attend the class, I will just rest and sleep at home."

I respond to Saifah and stand on my feet.
