'They say it's a cold place, icy and grey, with wind that cuts through marrow and bone.'

"I want to hear what they have on Avatar Atka." Korra states bluntly.

Asami hadn't noticed that her wife had shown up, her bright blue eyes wide with curiosity. This was almost a monthly occurrence, Korra slamming her door open, after having heard the name of another avatar. She demanded Asami help her research that avatar, in the library Asami had built.

It had all the information on almost every avatar they had, scattered around. It sometimes took days for both girls to find everything and put it in chronological order, but Asami always did her best to help.

It must suck to have no previous avatar to guide her, and Asami would do anything to make it easier on her.

"It's there a reason you want to know about Atka?" Asami questioned hesitantly.

"Someone mentioned her. They said I reminded them a bit of her stories, and I want to know about her." Korra explains.

From what Asami knew about the water bending avatar, she couldn't say that was incredibly far off. She didn't know much about Atka, but she'd read one of the stories written about her. She sighed, brushing back her dark hair, and holding a hand out to Korra.

"Well, we don't have all of the records on Atka-there are already very few on her-but what I remember from the first book we got, she was called the Storm Avatar. She was impossible to reason with, but was an incredible leader when she put her mind to it. Her fury was hard to escape, like a Hurricane, which is how she earned her name," Asami explained. "Do you need to know more about her?"

"I think...I think reading about her might help me make sense of the insanity I'm trying to fix." Korra explains.

Asami drew her eyebrows together, thinking. Then she nodded, and the two girls headed off to find what the library had on Atka.

"Aput! Catch!"

Atka's joyous voice rang out through the group of travelers, her short brown hair blowing in the wind. They had been traveling through the snow and water for some days. Atka has been brought upon this trip because of her healing abilities. The seas were fractured into different pirate gangs, and it made hunting trips dangerous and oftentimes deadly.

Aput was coming along because Atka refused to go without her. Aput had long, thick, white hair, with braids that came down from her scalp, into two ponytails, with the ends free but held by light-weight metal bands. They were a bit like the cloth bits that wrapped around the free pieces of hair by Atka's face.

She threw a chunk of ice across Pana, a young boy with almost white blue eyes, and he ducked. Aput's hands came up to protect her face, laughing as the ice slammed against her arms. Pana straightened up, placed his hands on his waist, and glared jokingly at Aput.

"You call that catching, woman?" He demanded jokingly,

Aput dropped her arms, giggling. She had the darkest skin out of the three, dark like the sky just after sunset-she gave off a gentle yet mysterious air. Her laugh was like a gentle creek, pouring out in a purely happy noise. Atka couldn't help but smile as Aput laughed.

She still expected Pana to yell at her. To tell her off for smiling at her friend, the girl she'd told him she liked, much more than she'd ever liked him. But Pana didn't seem offended. He always seemed happy that she was able to find happiness in someone else, when they were always forced to like each other.
