"Are you okay?" You grabbed his hands, helping him get up.
"Y-Yes, thanks to you." His face was completely red.
"You are Andrew, aren't you?" He nodded. "Nice to meet you." You shook his hand.
"R-Really?" His eyes practically sparkled when he said that. "Some people aren't this kind to me." He slightly smiled.
"They are just jerks, you shouldn't listen to what they say." You began walking with him to the cafeteria. "If they don't leave you alone, you can just tell me. I can take care of them." You winked.
You took care of him and never wanted anything more than a "thank you" and his cute smile as a reward. Maybe you had a slight crush on him, but you never said anything about that.
After some time, you went to the cemetery to give your husband some flowers and decided to look for Andrew. You talked to some workers and only one of them claimed to have seen the man.
"I'm pretty sure he is on a break now. He must be eating under some tree." The man said.
"Thanks." You smiled at him and continued your search.
You found him exactly as the man said. He was eating a sandwich under a tree, alone. It was just like when he was at school.
"Andrew!" You waved at him. He choked on his food and you immediately ran to him, tapping his back. "Sorry for scaring you." You slightly giggled.
"I... What are you doing here?" He asked while you sat beside him. "Y-You are going to get your dress dirty." He tried, but it was too late.
"So... how are you doing?"
"I'm good." He had a neutral expression you couldn't decipher. "... What about you?"
"Better." You sighed. "Things have been... weird, you know."
"It's not easy to lose someone you love." He looked at you, sadness in his eyes.
"I can't say I loved him." You could tell that Andrew got surprised by your statement. "Arranged marriage." You explained.
"That isn't something the (Y/N) I knew would agree with." He muttered.
"You are right, but I am not that (Y/N) anymore. She wouldn't be proud of what I turned out to be." You took a deep breath, disappointed at yourself.
"Don't say that." His voice was soft, it helped you relax a bit.
"Let's not talk about sad things." You tried to look for a different topic in your mind, and you couldn't have chosen any worse. "Are you going to the class reunion?"
"Class reunion?" And then you realized. They didn't invite him. You mentally slapped yourself.
"You... You should go. It's going to be fun." Your attempt to cheer him up didn't seem to work.
"They didn't invite me. Why would I go?" He looked down at his hands and you felt guilty. It was all your fault.
"Maybe they just... forgot." You couldn't find the right words to tell him.
"You don't have to pretend. I know they didn't like me."
"It's not like I was popular too, but it's okay if you don't want to." You wanted to give him a hug so bad but were too afraid to scare him away.
"What are you talking about? Everyone liked you. You were cool, fun, and... pretty. I-I mean, you are still pretty." His breath was heavy. The look on his face told you that he regretted saying those things.
