The plane ride was horrible. A baby was sitting about 2 rows behind you, and it was screaming like someone cut his toys up right in front of him. The man behind you kept snoring, and the woman beside you kept talking on her phone. For 5 hours straight. Crazy.

You had finally arrived in Texas after you got fired at you quit your last job in L.A. You're a registered nurse, and you move around from city to city and work there for more hours. To become your dream job, a nurse practitioner.

This town was small. Barely had over 10,000 people, and not any advanced technology. Like seriously, t-mobile has so service here. You rented a motel near by for a few months because your required hours were at least 500 hours, so about a month. But you had to spare time for you to get used to the place.

Southern Texas Motel. That's pretty specific. You walk in and see a man sitting at the reception desk. Before you could say anything.

"We don't take costumer without a reservation. If you don't have one, get out."- ???

He was pretty hot. He looked maybe 30 ( you're 29 btw ). ( yeah in this book, you're almost middle aged :) )

"Um. I have one?"- you say confused

He looks up. Like he's never herd a girl before.

"Oh. Okay. Name?"- ???

So now you're all nice.

"Emily Cooper."- you say

"Oh. Yeah. Uh, 2nd floor, to the left."

He reaches out to give you the key, and you take it.

"New here?"- ???

"Yeah. I just got here like an hour ago"- you say

"My names Jess. Jess Lockwood"- Jess

"Oh, it's nice to meet you"- you smile and wave

"Word of advice. Lock your doors"- he winks and turns away

What the- whatever. Your legs where too tired anyway

-

You head upstairs and to the left. The hallways where alright, not too dirty, but the walls weren't clean. You find your room, 163. You unlock the door and go it. You place your stuff down and shut the door behind you. You lock it as well.

The room's nice. One bed, one couch, a t.v, and a bathroom. Good enough.
You take a shower and change into more comfortable clothes. You lay down on your bed and go to sleep.

2 hours past
*knock knock*

You wake up, startled

"W-who is it?"- you say while half asleep

"Jess! You left a bag down here"- Jess yells

You look at your luggage and notice that your makeup bag is missing.

You walk to the door and open it slightly, just enough to grab the bag.

"T-thank you"- you say as you yawn

"No problem. Mind if I come in?"- Jess asks

Yes. Because I'm sleeping.

"Why?"- you asked concerned

"It's rude to leave someone standing outside their door for a long time"- he smiles

"Yeah maybe next time. But uh, some people like to sleep after a flight"- you smile and shut the door.

"Thank you though!"- you yell through the door

You waited for a few seconds and hear footsteps walking away.
