How They Met

Third person

For kili it began like every other day he woke up, got dressed and left for work in order to pay for his small room in the Inn also known as the prancing pony. Kili's job is simple really he serves people food, cleans tables and welcomes everyone into the Inn. His life was pretty boring as he lived alone in a small room in the Inn ever since his parents died when his was around 40(8 or 9 human years). To be fair he shouldn't even be living alone since he still is young now which he is around 60 in dwarf years but all the orphanages were full but thankfully  the owner of the inn Tom and his wife Emily always checked in on him in the morning and night making sure he's feed etc..

It was the early morning on a Saturday when kili was getting dressed for work when he had a feeling that today something good was going to happen but he wasn't sure what, that was until 8pm that night anyway when the most beautiful girl he had every seen had walked into the inn where he worked. At first she look really young but once she made eye contact with him he knew she was older than she look maybe even slightly older than him by a year or two. He watched as she walked up to him with a big grin on her face he thought as though he had seen an angel with your gorgeous    (h/c) long hair and your bright (e/c) glowing eyes and don't even get him started on your smile.

That night as kili called it the best night of his life, after a while of use talking use acted as though use had known each other for yours and he later found out your name was (y/n). You had began to shop at the Inn more often and the two of you never stopped talking and laughing with eachother. Kili knew ever since he had laid his eyes on you that you where his one. For a dwarf it was very unlikely that you would ever meet your one since there was so little dwarrowdams left in middle earth, nevermind finding your's at such a young age so of course kili felt as though he was blessed.

He wasn't until a few months later that use both starting courting eachother and you had asked him to move in with you and your parents who had treated him like family and loved him since the day you had introduced them to eachother and he was quick to accept. Use had spent the  next 12 years having the best time of your lifes until one awful night kili had work when there was an orc attack and you where killed along with your parents, leaving kili without his one and the only family he had since his died at such a young age and he didn't really remember his birth family. When he first found out he was so, devastated and he felt like the world came crashing down on him then and there. He spent a fews day's living on the streets on sorrow since he had no where to go. He had would have tried to go back and stay in the inn but the previous and his wife had sold to some else a few years ago in order to retire and thankfully the new owner had said kili could keep working there but he wasn't as nice as to left him live in one of rooms like the past.

It wasn't until the next day when he was sitting under a tree just outside of Dale where he used to live a normal life thinking about all that as happened in the last few days and thinking about how much the world must hate him to do this to him that while trying his best not to cry again that he heard someone walk up to him from the right. The first thing he seen was the mystery persons boots since was looking at the ground. "are you alright" the mystery person said. It wasn't until kili looked up that he saw it was the blond Prince fili since of dis who he had might a few years back when he came into the Inn for lunch with his uncle thorin, also known as King under the mountain and the two quickly became friends after a few friendly talks.

Thorin had asked if I could go down to Dale to get some things from the market. It wasn't that busy today to I was able to get my things fairly quick. I used to also have something needing to come with me to the market but I'm not 76 in dwarf years so I'm old enough and responsible enough to go myself. It was on the way back from Dale that I noticed someone sitting under I tree looking quite upset. It's wasn't until closer inspection that I realised the person under the tree was kili. Kili was a kid around my age who I had met a few years ago at the Inn where he worked and me and him became could friends. Infact I could probably call him my friend since he treated like a normal person and not one of royalty which I liked so it upset me very much to see that it was him. I couldnt think of what to say as I walked up to him so I just thought of what anyone else would say to someone looking upset. "Are you alright" I said. He looked up at me and immediately my heart broke as I could see the pain in his eyes. The gorgeous big brown eyes that are normal full of laughter and kindness now looked so dull and sad. "no" kili replied. "Do want to talk about it, I heard it helps" I said. "I just don't understand why the world hates me so much, first I lost my birth parent who I barley remember, and now I've not only lost my one but I've also lost my second family to a recent orc attack and a place to call home" kili said. I froze.  How does someone so kind and caring have to go through something so horrible and heart breaking. I then remembered he had also mentioned about losing his one, which is extremely rare for us dwarfs since there are so few dwarrowdams lift. Kili is also if I remember correctly only a few years younger than me so he has experience this at such a young age. I felt tears weld in my eyes as I tried not to try while imaging what kili is going through. I took a deep breath and decided then and there that I would get kili to live with me and my family and I would be there for him for the rest of my life as though a bit brother figure would no matter how hard it takes.

Over the next 15 years kili and fili became inseparable and if you didn't know them you would most definitely think there actually brothers by blood. Thorin and dis as soon as they meet kili had fallen In love with the boy as if he was there own son by birth. When kili had told them his story both of their hearts had broken the same as fili's did and they both also knew that they would try their hardest to not let kili go through that kind of pain again.

Three years after kili had moved in dis had decided to adopt kili officially into the durin family so he bare their name and he was so thankfully that he cried when dis had asked him about it. Fili was also over the moon as he had finally gotten an official brother even if it wasn't by blood. Fili has also keep his promise over the last 15 years about never leaving kili's side and beaming a big brother figure to him even if officially was now. Kili had also met many other dwarfs over the years who had became like family to him such as balin, dwalin who were brother. Next there was nori, dori and ori another set of brothers. Finally there was bofur, bombur, bofur, gloin and oin. And he couldn't ask for a better family.

Over the years the company as they called themselves as they were the ones who fought to get their home back a few years before meeting kili. They had tried asking kili about his one who's name was (y/n), but kili just couldn't bring himself to talk about you because he would cry if he did and he refused to cry in front of anyone even fili because it made him seem week and he is almost an adult and adults don't cry. (gonna pretend a dwarf is fully 100 year old, so kili is around 87 years old and fili will be around 92 for this story). Kili had also refused to sing to anyone over the years when they had dinner togther or events because he was afraid that he couldnt sing but he was actually really good as everyone is about to find out...
