chapter 1: The begining

"How bad can she be, really?" " You're too confident. She could tear apart mountains with her bear hands. And burn down entire villages with a single glare. Hell, the girl can topple entire civilizations without breaking a sweat! Believe me when I say... she can kill you in a second, with elegance, beauty, and grace, and-"He stopped abruptly. The ball room fell silent as all eyes looked to the door. It was her.She stumbled clumsily upon entry. As she did so, a pinkish blush of embarrassment tinted her cheeks..

Maybe I should start form the beginning. It all started when I was 15. My parents are the King and queen of Elysia. Making me the princess. I'm next in line for the throne since I don't have any siblings. The castle is lonely but I don't mind, I tend to sneak out and hand out with the kids that live here. We like to sneak out to the forbidden forest and explore. "Y/n, we should go out again tonight." Timothy said. Timothy was my best friend and quite attractive if I do say so myself. He was tall and slim but muscular, he had pale skin and dark black hair, it made his deep blue eyes pop. " Okay what time?" I responded, eager to sneak out. "When the moon hits the flag and we'll meet by the tree outside your window" I knew exactly what he was talking about and quickly ran back inside so I wouldn't be late for dinner. I went through the rest of my day as normal, dinner, archery lessons, painting, then I get ready for bed. I pretended to fall asleep and when my maids left I pulled out fake me, to take my place so I could go unnoticed.

Finally the moon hit the flag on the old angel and I opened my window so I could climb down the vines. I ran across the grass to the tree by my window and looked for Timothy. "There you are, get over here!" He whisper shouted. "Relax no-one saw me. So where are we headed today?" I responded. "It's a new place, I found it earlier." We walked and talked for a while and finally arrived at a stunning lake beaming with life. It reflected the night sky and had lightning bugs dancing round it. "It's gorgeous" "I Know" We laid out on the soft moss, looking up at the sky and talking."Happy Birthday by the way, I assume its past 12" timothy said. "Thanks" I was finally 16.

"Oh, shoot!! Timothy wake up, we need to get back to the castle!!!!" I shouted. He hurriedly got up and we raced back to the castle and I climbed back up through my window, looking down once I was in I waved by to Timothy who was hidden in the tree line smiling. I made sure to close and lock my window, I made sure I had no leaves on me and hid fake me. I got back under my covers just in time as Molly came to wake me. Molly was my personal maid but she was also a really good friend. "Miss Y/L/N, it's time to wake up, your parents will be expecting you at breakfast soon." I hated doing things with my parents, don't get me wrong, I loved them but they were so boring. They never let loose or had fun, much-less let me. I got ready and put on one of my many dresses, ughh the corset, my least favorite part. "You ready?" Molly questioned as she prepared to yank the strings,"I don't think anyone would notice if you didn't do it today" She gave me a look, "Fine, i'm ready." She pulled the heck out of the ribbon, I could barley breath. She finished up my hair, "perfect" she stated looking at me with approval,"now hurry or you'll be late. Oh and happy birthday by the way!!" I yelled a quick thanks before running down the halls.

I raced to the dinning room and to my surprise no one was there. I waited for a while and then someone came bursting through the doors, It was Timothy. he looked pale as a ghost, "Whats wrong?" I had never seen him this scared, even when we got chased by the wild boar. "It's your parents, they're....they're gone." "What! how can that be?" "they were murdered"

A million thoughts ran through my mind,how did this happen, who's responsible, how'd they get in, who would run the kingdom, what would happen to me. I was over taken with grief, they where my parent after all. Timothy caught me as my knees gave way. I held on to him like he was my life line, because he was. We where soon interrupted as the Duke came in. He is, I mean was my parents advisor. "What does all this mean?" I asked him. "It means you're queen, My lady"
