Mike x Reader (fluff)

Start from the beginning

"Who said you can't be with me? That's what I have been trying to do for six months." He held your hand.

"You are a demon, you will live forever. What about me? I will get old and you won't want me anymore."

"You can live forever too, but…"

"I would have to die."

"And I'm not sure if you are going to hell. I doubt it." He hugged you. "But we can find another way. I never thought I would say that, but I just want to be with you."

"How many times have you done that? Suddenly invading someone's life, making them fall in love with you, making vows of love, abandoning them."

"In all my centuries of living, this is the first time. Besides that, I will make sure that the last part doesn't happen. You are not getting away from me easily."

"So... I stole a demon's heart. Kind of impressive, huh?" You laughed.

Needless to say that Mike didn't have any clue on how to fulfill his promise, but he knew that he would do anything to have you by his side.

One day, you woke up and didn't see him on the other side of the bed. You looked around the apartment, called him multiple times, but he was nowhere to be seen. You were so afraid that something had happened to him until you found a note.

"I'm going back 'home'"

He went back to hell. You sighed, your heart aching. He left you, you thought.

"How could I be so stupid?" You cried in your pillow.

You should have known better, you should have noticed that he was playing with you, using you and your feelings. You cried yourself to sleep that night, blaming yourself for all the suffering.
As the days passed by, you were sure that he would never come back. He would be laughing at you in hell.
You remembered him when you went to the kitchen, recalling the days you woke up to the smell of breakfast and how he always hugged you from behind when you were cooking. You remembered him while falling asleep like you were smelling his fragrance on the sheets. You remembered him at work where you first met him.
It was a painful week. While dealing with the sorrow, your friends tried to cheer you up with everything you liked. They even wanted you to go on a date, they said you had to move on. You and Mike weren't official, and he left you, so you thought a date wouldn't be a bad idea. They introduced you to a really nice guy, but you ended up spacing out or talking about the demon during your date. Maybe it was too soon.

"I'm really, really sorry about everything." You said to the guy while you sat on a bench outside the restaurant.

"It's okay. Breakups can be tough." He comforted you.

"It wasn't even a breakup, he-" You spotted someone running in your direction. "M-Mike?"

"There you are!" He opened his arms to hug you.

"Is that him?" The man questioned and you only nodded.

"Can you take me home?" You asked, almost desperate.

"Of course." He put his hands around your shoulders and you started walking to his car.

"(Y/N)!" You tried to ignore Mike's voice, but he was persistent. "What are you doing? Who's that?"

You made it to the car without looking at his face, but he wasn't going to give up.
At home, he wouldn't stop knocking in your bedroom door and calling you. It was so annoying that you decided to let him in.

"What is happening?" He asked, totally oblivious.

"Are you sure you don't know?" You crossed your arms, maintaining your distance. "You left without talking to me, I thought you would never come back."

"Do you think I would just abandon you like that?"

"You only left a note. A note, Mike. How was I supposed to figure out what was going on?"

"I know and I'm sorry. I was in a hurry, I didn't have time to explain."

"Do you have any idea how hard this week was?" You felt so angry that you couldn't even think about his reasons. "It was like you disappeared with a part of my heart."

"I'm really sorry, but I'm here now." He expected to see a smile on your face, but that didn't happen. "Let me explain." He sat down next to you, holding one of your hands.

"Alright." You sniffed, trying to control your tears.

"We had that conversation about being together, so I decided to go back to hell and see what I could do about it. I talked to a lot of people until I found the answer. I found out that there's a way for me to be a human again, live once more!"

"That's… that's awesome!" You softened. "But how does that work?"

"It's a complicated ritual. It's… dangerous."

"What do you mean?"

"If something goes wrong, I can disappear. Forever. Like I never existed."

"That would be probably the biggest proof of love that anyone has ever received, but I'm not letting you do that."

"Too late, I already made the deal."

"You what?!" You slapped him, losing control over your acts for a moment.

"I was expecting a kiss or something like that." He said, massaging his cheek.

"I can't lose you, Mike." You wrapped your arms around him.

"You won't lose me, I promise."

"You can't promise me that!"

"As I said before, you are not getting away easily."

He explained the ritual and the deal. You understood nothing but supported him as there was no other way. He made you promise that you two would live the month before the ritual like it was the last.
When the time came, you watched as he flew away. Before returning to hell, he kissed your lips, said how much he loved you, and said that if he didn't come back for three days, it was because he was gone.
You anxiously waited for three days. You couldn't even sleep, always thinking that he would enter your apartment at any moment. When the night of the third day came, you felt a lump in your throat.

"Mid-night, Mike. Come on." You whispered, hoping he would hear it whenever he was. "Mike, please…" You felt like crying again. "Mike…"

You laid down on the cold floor, crying your eyes out. Then, you heard a click on the door.

"I'm back." Mike smiled, looking exhausted, covered in bruises and scratches.

"I was so scared." You immediately ran to hug him.

"Not too tight. My body hurts."

"Are you really alive?" You touched his face, feeling his skin.

"I am." He giggled while you covered his face with kisses.

After telling you what happened, he went to the shower, ate the dinner you made, and took some painkillers.

"I'm so happy!" You cheered, cuddled up to him. "I love you so, so, so much."

"I love you more." He teased.

"Want to start a fight?" You playfully pretended to be prepared to punch him.

"Try it." He smirked.

Before you could move, he grabbed you by the waist and put you in his lap, catching your lips in an intense kiss.

"Are you… Are you sure?" You asked when you felt his hands underneath your shirt.

"Do you want to do this?"

"… Yes, I do." You smiled, kissing the tip of his nose.

"You can't be all cute in situations like this!" He joked.

"Alright, I will control myself." You giggled.

"Oh, God, I love this woman so much." He claimed after coming back to the kisses.
